Arthur Reynolds R.I.P

We are extremely sad to announce the death of The Skipper Founding Editor Arthur Reynolds.

Since he began The Irish Skipper in 1964 Arthur was a passionate advocate for our fishermen and coastal communities. Over several decades as Editor he documented the high and lows, successes and failures and was never afraid to challenge what he saw was the injustices inflicted on our industry.

To all of us here at The Skipper he was an inspiration and mentor but most importantly a very dear friend.

To Fintan and Anne we offer our deepest sympathies and condolences

He will be missed by all those who live from the sea around our coastline

"The grief of our loss may be with us for a long time, but the joy of our memories will stay forever."
