Joining us this week on the podcast to share his story of where his interest in the topic of climate change has come from is comedian, social commentator and Cork man Tadhg Hickey!

With almost 2 in 3 people are more worried about the impacts of climate change than they were two years ago, we've been inviting some special guests on the pod - people who aren’t necessarily known for talking about climate change - in an effort to try and help normalise it in the lead up to !

In this episode Tadhg spoke to us about how his interest in history and colonialism has led him to learning more about the climate crisis, before joining us for a discussion on this week's headlines:

- A new Loss and Damage Deal: Climate Justice is on the agenda at COP
- Greta Thunberg ruffles some feathers by insisting there's no climate justice on occupied lands
- And here in Ireland a new Friends of the Earth poll is a ‘temperature check’ on Irish public opinion about climate - we look at the fascinating and sometimes contradictory findings.

Tune in to listen wherever you get your podcasts.

It's a pretty rewarding feeling to see that The Climate Alarm Clock is being listened to in nearly 50 countries around the world!

Two years ago, we got together as a team and decided that we wanted The Climate Alarm Clock to be a one stop shop for climate change.

Something that people could tune in to hear what's been going on in climate news that week, learn a bit, hear from inspirational people and get ideas of actions they could take to make a positive impact.

Rather than feeling overwhelmed or anxious, we wanted to help our listeners feel empowered about the ways in which they could take action to drive change here in Ireland.

And while there have been many different emotions behind the scenes that have gone into making this podcast, the predominant ones are a sense of hope, happiness and comfort in the camaraderie that comes from navigating through the madness of it all together.

We're extremely grateful to everyone who has tuned in and listened to our podcast over the last two years! If you've been so kind to continue reading to this part of the post and have tuned in to the pod, we'd love you to drop us a line and let us know where you are listening from!

While we're taking a break from recording for the summer, there are some really great interviews with people who are doing great work to protect Ireland's biodiversity in the face of the climate crisis to listen back on. Here's one where Niall Hatch of BirdWatch Ireland talks Darragh through the amazing work they do, and how you can get involved.

Episodes on curlews, corncrakes, and swifts (not Taylor) to follow over the coming days if you're nice to us!

Padraic Fogarty has long been an important voice for Irish nature restoration. He spoke to us on behalf of Wildlife Trust last year about the importance of restoring natural ecosystems in the face of the biodiversity emergency in Ireland. His departure will be a big loss to the agency.

*New Episode*

In this special episode, Anna & Darragh are joined by psychologist Eoin Galavan, and community activist Caitriona Kenny to discuss the psychology of climate anxiety and parenting.

In this episode, Eoin helps us solve the psychology puzzles that parents are facing while Caitriona brings her lived experience. We discuss questions like 'How do we talk to other people' and for parents we ask 'How do we talk to children honestly while still protecting them?" plus much more.

Just a week after the .ie published a rousing call to action on climate change, they are back to business as usual writing articles about increasing passenger numbers at Dublin airport with no mention of the climate impacts this will have.

We sent a letter to the editor of the Independent (and to the who published the same editorial) urging them to show the climate leadership that our politicians aren’t showing. It wasn’t published but you can get a read of our thoughts by scrolling to the final image. ⬆️

Darragh, .anna and take a look at the news. Gorse fires in Galway are too close to home for Ciara and she gets emotional when we talk about football.
