The Closing Night of the 2021 will be the World Premiere of 'Untold Secrets', a new documentary that gives voice to the survivors of Irish Mother & Baby Homes, in particular the testimony of one survivor, Anne Silke, who was fostered out of the Bon Secours Mother & Baby Home in Tuam.
Untold Secrets is directed by Galwegian/Spanish filmmaker, Teresa Lavina.
The full programme launches tonight, 7/7 at 7pm. ⏳
We are delighted to announce the selected films for this year’s 'Shot by The Sea' film festival. Well done to all of you who submitted such a wide selection of beautiful films, the standard of submissions was very high.
We really appreciate all the effort that was put into making them.
It has been difficult to select among so many submissions and we are sorry we have only a limited time for our online festival.

This time there are no omissions to sexual abuse and su***de related conversations, so I am gently warning those who are sensitive that this is a very honest and hard piece to watch. These voices need to be heard. For the past year I have been trying to acquire funds to make it a feature film. I have not been able to raise any money through public funding. Due to Covid our events planned as fundraisers had to be cancelled. I want really thankNigel O'Brienfor volunteering in his free time to help me with this. Big thanks toChe O Cronghaile, Shelly Herterich,Dave Byrne, Athenry County Council and local businesses for their efforts trying to help putting our outdoor screening together. Due to government plans of sealing records of the mother and baby homes for the next 30 years, I decided to spend the last few days editing this extended version of Bad Fruit, it's now 25min long.
