❌ BIG CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND AHEAD ❌
We are in the business end of the season now with championship 1/4 finals, semi finals & even finals taking place on Saturday & Sunday.
Senior Championship-
Sean Mac Cumhaill vs Glenswilly GAA
The young pretender vs the master- both teams will fancy there chances here & it might not be as straight forward as people might think.
Verdict- Glenswilly
Clg Ard An Ratha vs CLG Ghaoth Dobhair
The battle of the Gaeltacht teams, to some ardara surprised Cloghaneely last wk with a big performance & will take good confidence from it- can they do it 2 wks in a row…
Gaoth dobhair haven’t been overly impressive so far & needed a last minute point to beat Dungloe last weekend they are somewhat coming in under the radar in this year’s championship.
Verdict- Gaoth Dobhair
Aodh Ruadh CLG vs St Eunan's GAA Club - Open Page
Apart from the 1st half in the Glenties game st Eunans haven’t got out of 2nd gear on the championship & this will be a good test for them. People go on about ballyshannon been defensive but it’s a system that’s been working throughout the league & 4 wins in the championship too puts them in a good place BUT Eunans should have too much for them.
Verdict- St Eunans
Cill Chartha GAA Official vs Naomh Conaill G.A.A Club
On paper anyway the big game of the weekend. Both teams are well used to playing each other at this stage & after the debacle a few years ago you’d be forgiven for thinking theirs no wild love lost. Glenties aren’t a team that’s going to walk all over the top of anyone but they’ve a style of play now that’s not changed much in 20 years & some would say “if it’s not broke” kilcar are going to have to improve a lot from what we’ve seen so far in the championship to be fit to derail the champions.
Verdict- Glenties.
INTERMEDIATE CHAMPIONSHIP-
Gaeil Fhánada Clg vs Malin GAA
To many Fanad have been the surprise package this year with 2 big results in their last 2 outings vs favourites termon & the buncranna. But they also put up a big fight as expected against Downings & could of got a result their too in the group stages. Malin are going to have to bring their A Game to get a result in this one but maybe the season in D1 will stand to them.
Verdict- Malin
CLG Na Dunaibh vs Clg An Tearmainn
Termon Hold the upper hand here after beating Downings in the group game a few wks ago so they go in as strong favourites not just for this match but the whole competition in many peoples eyes. I don’t expect Downings to be as poor as they were the 1st day so it should make for an intriguing 60 odd minutes…
JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP-
Moville GAA Club vs Naomh Padraig
The big inishowen derby for a place in the junior final… moville have plenty experience & will relish going up against their neighbours down the road. M**f have had a few good years at underage level u16/minor now it’s a question of can they deliver & get into their 1st junior final since 2016
Verdict- Moville
St. Marys Convoy C.L.G. Vs Na Rossa Gaa
The 2 supposed favourites at the start of the year clash at the semi final stage. Convoy were very impressive last day out & will go into this one high in confidence but they go up against a na rossa team who have lost 3 of the last 4 semi finals & with ex county manager taking over the rings this year they’ll be hoping to get into the final.
Verdict- Convoy.
