The 2024 roadshow will feature a unique series of presentations from some of Ireland’s best-known presenters and authors.

Wednesday 7th February at 7pm.
Join us in Carrickmacross Library for an informative presentation by author Flor MacCarthy.
The talk will shine a spotlight on correspondence relating to the border region in particular and reveal how successive Irish presidents have dealt with border issues and relations between Dublin, Belfast and London.
From President Éamon de Valera seeking permission in the 1960s to 'leave the jurisdiction' and enter 'the Six Counties' to attend a Mass in Armagh, to President Mary Robinson's handshake with Gerry Adams, previously unpublished correspondence trace how these relations evolved and how each president defined their era. Expect some surprises!
* Illustrated presentation followed by audience Q&A.

This Weekend - The Ashford Castle History Festival. Here's Flor MacCarthy with news of a chance to see some of Ireland's most popular historians in person...
The History 100 Roadshow is on the road again this new year. Cavan, Clare, Dublin and Laois are among the stops already confirmed for 2023. There’s a talk coming to a town near you! Ireland’s “Decade of Centenaries”, remembering 1912-1923, the most turbulent and transformative time in the nation’s history, is drawing to a close, and Pegasus Consulting is again offering libraries, museums and festivals a unique package of presentations, led by some of Ireland’s best-known historians – Dr. Myles Dungan, the presenter of The History Show; Dr. David McCullagh, the presenter of The Six-One News; and Oireachtas TV’s Flor MacCarthy, the author of The Presidents’ Letters. This year, for the first time, the Pegasus History Roadshow will feature a special programme of interactive and illustrated talks aimed specifically at schoolchildren, presented by leading authors and broadcasters.
