💥The time has come to announce this years judges 💥
Following the success of our inaugural competition in 2025, we are delighted to announce the judges for the Moynalty Steam Threshing International Farrier Competition 2026.
We are honoured to welcome Mr Steven Beane FWCF and Mrs Kathrine Beane as our judges.
Both Steven and Kathrine are highly respected figures within the world of farriery, but here is a brief introduction.
Steven Beane, from Yorkshire in England, began his farriery career in 1997 and has since reached the very highest level in every aspect of his profession. He is a highly sought-after clinician, judge, and examiner for the Worshipful Company of Farriers. In 2018, Steven achieved a distinction in the FWCF practical examination — a title held by only a small number of farriers worldwide.
Steven is also the current World Champion Farrier, having won the World Championship an incredible six times, alongside four European and five National Championship titles. His list of achievements is truly outstanding.
Alongside competing and judging, Steven runs a busy shoeing practice in Yorkshire with two apprentices and co-owns the farrier tool manufacturing company Beanie Tools.
Kathrine Beane is an equally respected farrier based in Quebec, Canada, and has been in the profession since the age of 18. She is heavily involved with the Quebec Farriers Association and, following Covid, took over the organisation of Quebec’s Farrier and Forging Competition — the world-renowned Masters Cup.
Thanks to Kathrine’s dedication and leadership, the Masters Cup continues to grow year on year. In recognition of her contribution to the farrier community, she was awarded the “Pierre Beaudoin” Trophy at the 2022 AMFQ Convention, as well as the “Jim Smith” Award from the Ontario Farriers Association for her outstanding commitment to education and industry excellence.
Together, Steven and Kathrine run Beanie Tools, where every tool is hand-finished to the highest standard and can be personalised with state-of-the-art engraving.

We are extremely proud to have Steven and Kathrine Beane judging the 2026 Moynalty International Farrier Competition and sincerely thank them both for taking the time to be part of this event.
