As 2024 draws to a close we look back on what was an amazing year for Norman Media. We started the year by getting certified to work in Hostile regions. We reported on the US presidential election live from New York, the UK general election live from London and the Irish general election live from Galway. We followed Micheál Martin's campaign for 3 weeks all over the country all that in addition to our regular news and Nationwide assignments. Thanks for all the support to everyone that helped us in any way.

We’ve had a very busy November so far. The month began with a trip to New York to provide facilities for two live programmes for 7Lá on TG4 for the US presidential election. Then straight back to the Irish General election where we are following the Fianna Fáil leader for Nuacht. We then facilitated a live Nuacht broadcast and ended this week with a shoot for an RTÉ Nationwide special on the 10th anniversary of the Wild Atlantic Way. We are back on the FF leader tour tomorrow. It’s never boring!

Hostile Environment Training course completed recently. This course allows us to operate in Hostile environments (war or conflict zones) for broadcasters following training in first aid, IED identification and threat mitigation.

As 2022 comes to an end, we take a look back at some of the stories we covered this year for RTÉ news and Nuacht RTÉ / TG4.

The week gone by is another reminder of how fragile life is and the changing nature of news. Following the terrible events in Creeslough last Friday, we were tasked to cover the tragedy for Nuacht RTÉ / TG4. Over 6 days we produced news reports and facilitated the live broadcast of the Nuacht programmes on both channels.

The week ended today with filming and editing an interview with Riverdance composer Bill Whelan for our clients Independent.ie to be used on their website next week.

We had another successful National Ploughing Championships for our client Nuacht RTÉ. Over the 3 days we filmed and edited 6 news packages and did 3 lives. Time to retire the wellies for a while!

Another very busy week for Norman Media. We started the week for RTÉ news in Galway with an interview with the Garda Commissioner, then to Dublin with lives from Leinster House with Michéal Lehane and Sandra Hurley and news stories with Conor Hunt, Samantha Libreri and Brian O’Donovan and finished the week on Inis Boffin for Nuacht RTÉ. Fabulous variety!
