We are excited to welcome spectacular director, Jake Mavity, to the Butter roster. Jake is known for his joyful approach to filmmaking. His work is honest, witty and layered with craft. He has an insightful (even intuitive!) approach to casting actors, drawing out performances that are both naturalistic and captivating. 

Jake’s background as an editor imbues his work with clarity, precision, and an economy of storytelling. His confident approach has led to him being recognised at a variety of prestigious festivals and awards for his work in narrative, music videos and advertising.

Butter is recruiting for a Production Assistant/ Office Manager. This is a full-time permanent role.

Position: Production Assistant / Office Manager
The role will entail a variety of production responsibilities supporting the Exec Producer, freelance producers and ensuring the smooth operation of productions and the production office.

Below are some of the responsibilities, but it may be more useful to know that you will be intrinsic to all parts of the production process and the business. Where you take that is up to you! Responsibilities include the following - great if you have experience with some of these:

- Assisting in all stages of production.
- Booking crew and being a point of contact for freelancers throughout production period.
- Organising travel arrangements and preparing itineraries
- Arranging contracts, insurance.
- Preparing production documents using MS Office Suite and Google Docs.
- Responsible for the day-to-day running of a busy production office.
- Providing support to Directors and colleagues as required
- Financial administration – issuing invoices to clients, processing payments managing floats, providing information to bookkeeper and accountant.
- Marketing – Maintaining the company’s online presence by managing external suppliers.
- Managing social posts – internally or with external supplier
- Overseeing the health and safety of the office; solving IT issues, Drive management, etc.

Requirements:
- A pro-active self-starter capable of working flexibly and resourcefully in support of the team.
- An ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Very strong attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A high level of IT literacy, proficiency in Word, Excel, Google Suite. Experience of InDesign and Canva would be an advantage.

The role would be suited to a Production Assistant. Experience in the production sector will be a major advantage.

Salary: The salary is Eur38,000 per annum.

The role is 95% office based.

Involuntary loneliness is rising, and su***de is sadly the leading cause of death among young people in Scandinavia. In this moving piece of work from director Daniel De Viciola, MiND - an organisation that provides mental health assistance, calls for support to handle the avalanche of calls from people dealing with mental illness.

It’s a relatable problem in Ireland.

Daniel crafts a stunning spot, with emotive performances, composed photography, technical sophistication and his characteristic restraint. The hallmarks of Daniel’s work are technical virtuosity and camera magic aligning with composed art direction and visual flair.

We are delighted to welcome Stephen Pipe to the Butter family!

Stephen is a multi award-winning, comedy titan who finds the funny in everything. His hilarious TVCs and television work is grounded in relatable, funny situations.

Stephen started working the same year that ‘Chicken Tonight’ first hit the shelves and spent many years working at London’s top advertising agencies as a clever creative, before jumping to the other side.

Oh yeah, he’s also gut wrenchingly funny. Or as we say a Good Craic Pipe… but we will leave the comedy to him.
