First real beach day in Florida. Hung out near the main pier at Daytona for a while then went about 5 miles south to Ponce Inlet. Water was clean, endless white sand that you’re allowed to drive your car right out onto to park. A dolphin swam right by us. Tortoises ambling along the beach without a care in the world. Squadrons of fat pelicans soaring by in formation, so low you could almost touch them. Snorkeling was relaxing and the visibility was about 8 feet, but without a reef there was only sand. I did see a pretty nice ray. All in all, the beaches are pretty sweet here! And the fishing should be even better.
