Fed up of the same old Christmas songs (and even that new and need to inject your playlist with more sunshine? Check out Little Drummer Boy by Vinx. I love this funky Christmas album and it's not just because I work with Vinx! A mixture of classics as you've never heard them before and some super fun original songs.

If you're not listening to "O Christmas tree" while you decorate your tree you won't make it through the decorating...and if you don't love "Christmas in Paradise" you may as well unfriend me now! Spotify link below but you can also support Vinx directly and download these songs directly at his website www.vinx.com.

You're on your way home from a hard day working in Manhattan in April 1995, you look up and there's Grammy award winning singer and musician Carly Simon performing in Grand Central Station!

For the first time ever Carly Simon's concert from Grand Central Station has been released on audio! The audio has been re-mixed by multi-Grammy Award winning producer and engineer Frank Filipetti. The concert is available on Blu-ray, CD, vinyl (and limited edition coloured vinyl) and digital streamers through Sony Music.

Check out the beautiful artwork by our very own Graphic Designer Jodylynn Talevi.

Jody said she was "...honored to be part of "Carly Simon Live at Grand Central". Thank you to The Sync Report, Robert Cappadona and Larry Ciancia (Ciancia Management) for this opportunity."

Congratulations to everyone involved.

400 million people have heard Lili Haydn's music on the hit Netflix show Ginny and Georgia. Have you?

Grammy winning composer, violinist, singer and recording artist Lili Haydn spoke to us about growing up in Hollywood as the child of oddball Hollywood luminaries, recording six solo albums for a major label, her experience, touring with Jimmy Page & Robert Plant and being booed at Madison Square Gardens.

She tells us how her father was more than just a Hollywood dealer with a penchant for guns and believes someone stealing her violin was the wake-up call she needed to become a musician. Should we thank that thief?

Lili has worked with Hans Zimmer, collaborated with George Clinton, Herbie Hancock, Sting and many others. She has worked with several award-winning directors, including Oscar winner Freida Mock on her documentary RUTH: Justice Ginsburg in Her Own Words, and Oscar nominee Michele Ohayon’s Netflix documentary Strip Down Rise Up. Her music can be heard throughout Ginny & Georgia on Netflix as well as in two seasons of Amazon's Transparent

Listen up and you’ll hear why George Clinton called her "the Jimi Hendrix of the violin."

Lili is a humanitarian and life-long activist and performs regularly for human rights organisations, including Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and the Global Security Institute. Her band ***m Moon released a single entitled Woman Life Freedom in solidarity with the women of Iran.

Help Woman Life Freedom reach more people by streaming the song after you listen to her conversation with us.

Plus we talk to Vinx De'Jon Parrette about his music and life journey. Listen to music created for a real film sync brief, by artists who attended our creative retreat in France with Vinx.

How was Ben Lee’s second gig supporting Sonic Youth?!

Ben Lee’s band Noise Addict were loved by Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore and the Beastie Boys Mike D and toured with Sebadoh when he was still only 16 years old! How the heck did that happen? Listen to the podcast and you'll find out!

Why did he decide to go solo so soon after finding huge success with Noise Addict? What do Mike D and Money Mark have to do with Ben working with T-Bone Burnett and how did their song end up on the end credits of the film Best Men?

How did Ben’s song “How to Survive a Broken Heart" become integral to a scene in the Farrelly Brothers classic film There’s Something About Mary? And how happy was Ben to discover what music sync is?

Ben’s music has been in many films and TV shows including Greys Anatomy, Scrubs and Deuce Bigalow. He’s mentored on The Voice Australia and competed in The Masked Singer Australia; he’s recorded with Evan Dando and Mandy Moore, teamed up with Ben Folds and Ben Kweller to form The Bens and won ARIA Single Of The Year for his song Catch My Disease, but how did the idea for that song start (clue: it's not what you think!).

His most recent album I’m Fun was released through Warner Music in June 2022 and to be honest, he is fun! Listen to this episode with Ben Lee and see for yourself.

Season 3!! We can't believe that we recorded three seasons of The Sync Report podcast in our first year!

We had incredible conversations about music and film and music in film. Actor & Film Director; Brady Corbet, and Film Producer, Director & Cinematographer; Steve Bernstein offer incredible insights into filmmaking, Music Supervisors Michelle De Vries, Rupert Hollier, Alec Stern and Tricia Halloran all give valuable advice on how to submit your music for sync, plus an insight into being a music supervisor for film and TV.

We spoke to musicians Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits and Sean Hurwitz of Smashmouth, composers Jess Duckworth and Tommy Faragher about their music, including songs that have been composed for, or placed in huge TV shows & major films. Plus there were conversations with music and film professionals including Stuart Clarke, John Malkin and Dean Lyon providing insights on their journeys through music, filmmaking and TV.

Each show also features music from our talented audience of musicians, bravely submitting their music for our panel's feedback and hoping to land a music sync opportunity. We salute you, thank you for supporting us and we hope you will continue to submit your music in 2023.

Coming up in Season 4, we have more insightful conversations into music, film, TV and the world of music sync. And even more Sync opportunities.

Season two, thirteen more music podcasts and we improved our recording gear (as much as we could) and we briefly thought editing was fun!

Starting in April we spoke to Irish music sensation Paddy Casey who picked up his guitar and performed for us - this was a first and we all felt a bit giddy afterwards, even Colin, and he's worked with Anthony Hopkins! Another season of brilliant musicians, songwriters and composers, actors and filmmakers, music managers and an agent, telling their stories in music or film for you to enjoy.

We loved talking to Antonio Campos about making movies and The Staircase; to Claire Van Kampen about recording to picture at Abbey Road Studios; to Reeve Carney about landing the role of Spiderman on Broadway; Patrick Ecclesine about working with Demi Lovato and why Miami Vice was a key moment for music in TV...and so much more! There are so many brilliant people and fun conversations here! Who was your favourite from season two?

Plus there's some brilliant music from upcoming artists and artists submitting music for real sync opportunities that we run through our live Sunday show, including for our own upcoming animated TV Show. We're always looking to hear new music from talented musicians!
So, we want to know your favourite parts of this season? Whose story did you love? Who made you laugh? Whose music did you enjoy and still listen to now? Answers on a postcard to....or below will do.

In the beginning, we never imagined how a conversation with our music and film pals in a Clubhouse "room" would turn into a podcast show.

We didn't know we would hear so many great stories from artists, working in front of the camera or behind it, on stage or backstage.

Here's a reminder of Season 1 of The Sync Report, which we launched a little over a year ago. Season 1 where we were still finding our feet and developing the show. Season 1 where we were new to editing. If you listen through the shows you may notice the format changing and the show improving!

But look at these guests! They are some of the best indie filmmakers, music publishers, musicians, music producers, composers and more. They know their industry inside out. They all came with great stories and insights into their craft and film music.

From the beginning we have also brought you talented musicians and their music. With a sync opportunity for unsigned (or signed) artists hoping to land a music placement. Our talent search had just begun.

Feeling as nostalgic as we are for the last year? Choose your favourite show here: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-sync-report/id1594399671 or wherever you normally listen to podcasts.
