Yurt Cobain is a Kildare based DJ that been making a name for himself in the past year. Originally a night club photographer with a love for Techo and Dance music Yurt Cobain began DJing in early 2019. Since then he has gone from strength to strength releasing his last mix with the highly respected Common Ground Collective which has featured the likes of Obskür, Meltx, Decadance and RRR’s own Rowdiboi.
Yurt Cobain has a infectious style that can make even the most stubborn revellers move to the rhythms. Yurt Cobains mixes have something for everyone be it rap, techno, breakbeat or electro. Influenced largely by labels such as Steel City Dance Discs he also finds inspiration in more unconventional areas. An example being his use of tracks from Video Games such as the Ridge Racer series. Yurt Cobain expands further on this saying “ I love crate digging in areas where people would usually overlook like old racing games. Before I was a DJ the tracks I always enjoyed the most would make me think of a night level in a racing game ya know? Those levels were always fast paced, bright and vibrant while being aggressive at the same time. I think my mixes posses all those qualities which has helped me to carve out my own “style” of DJing”
