Tom was one if lifes truest gentlemen & a huge supporter of all sports but especially his treasured game of Rugby. We all offer our condolences at this sad time to Màire & wider family. Ar dheis De go raibh ah Anam Uasail.

It is with great sadness that we have to Announce the passing of former president Tom Hughes.

Everyone at Ballinasloe R.F.C. sends our deepest condolences and thoughts go out to the Hughes family may Tom rest in eternal peace.

Tom Hughes was a life long member and supporter of Ballinasloe Rugby Club. He captained the Junior XV in 1968/69. He was an active committee member in the 1970's and 80's and served as President on four occasions: 1990/91, 1992/93, and joint president of Buccaneers in 1996/97 and 2001/2002. He was chairperson of Athlone / Ballinasloe and Buccaneers in the early years of the amalgamation helping bring both clubs together. Tom was a dedicated and loyal Connacht supporter and attended all their home games. Tom was a steward at the Aviva Stadium for Ireland rugby matches for many years. Known in rugby circles in Connacht and outside the province, Tom was a great ambassador for the Club, a true sportsman and will be remembered as a legend.

********* Reminder ***********
*Registration for current youth members across Beavers, Cubs, Scouts & Venturers.*

*3rd September*

*Moore Hall 6:30pm - 7:30pm*

Registration is €65 for the year with additional sub money to cover program costs.

We are actively recruiting new leaders for our Beaver & Cub sections.

Unfortunately, we won’t be able to ensure continuity of the program for these aged groups without commitment from new leaders this year.

Anyone interested in becoming a leader should come along for a chat tomorrow evening too & see if it’s for them.

Should you decide to become a leader, you’ll be fully supported by other experienced leaders and receive training (upon Garda vetting) it’s also great craic and fun for us ”adults” too!

⚡️🎊 September 2024

Welcome to September at Moore Community Hall (N37 HT68)!

There are plenty of opportunities to sign up to new or ongoing activities, groups, and classes this Autumn term.

Some of these classes/events/groups start this coming week. Pilates, Badminton, Yoga, Irish Dancing, Unislim, Rinka, and the Moore Active Retirement Group.

Those who are not starting back this week, are taking names and will begin over the coming weeks!

Have a look at the September 2024 timetable and if you see something you like, please do get in contact with the people/groups running the activity/class/group. Their contact details are on the timetable and they would be delighted to hear from you.

We have wonderful groups and individuals who are running these classes/events/training and want to thank them all for coming back to us again for another term. It is great to have these opportunities available to us so close to home.

We hope to add some extra lines to the timetable over the coming weeks but for now, we hope you can see something for you and/or your family/friends.

Whether you are a seasoned attendee or whether this will be your first time taking part in activities in Moore Community Hall, you are very welcome 💐🌟

Wishing you a lovely new term.
