I’ll be speaking at the annual Self Build Live event on Saturday 18th May in Leopardstown.

I have to say, it’s a great event. I’ve been a few times to browse various suppliers wares and also discovered plenty of new systems and suppliers that I may not have otherwise come across. If you’re thinking of building, it’s an incredible visual collection of various materials and I’d highly recommend it for a more tactile input to your pre-build phase, which is usually mostly spent behind a screen (boo!).

If anyone is knocking around and fancies a chat on tiny houses, feel free to shoot me a message here and we can grab a coffee.

"An absolutely fantastic weekend, I was buzzing the whole way home. The independence I gained was amazing, I feel I can now tackle projects by myself and can't wait to start.

I now have a grà for DIY. The course gave me the ability to take things apart in my head and reverse engineer them so that I now feel I can make them.

The people were amazing too, it was awesome meeting like minded but completely different people with diverse backgrounds and skills.

I absolutely loved this course and would recommend it to anyone it to gain the confidence to do build things themselves. It made a complete unknown seem simple and doable and gave me a great starting point to learn more."

Ah sure there you are now!
I was recently asked to write a piece for about the electronic trad flute scene here in North Tipperary 🪈

I didn’t thing the underground musicians would want me letting the cat out of the bag on that one so instead I spoke about (surprise!) tiny living, what makes a house a home and some specifics about my first build, including naming some of my amazing suppliers like Al-Ko tech Athlone & 🏗️👷🏼‍♀️

Questions I get asked: How much did my tiny house cost? 💸💸💸 I used mostly premium materials on my self built micro eco home, particularly when it came to glues, tapes, sealants, membranes and adhesives (like @bostik.ie and Evo-Stik, @tec7adhesive , @tyvekdesign , @gerlingerklebeband ), as I wanted to have no doubts about their long term effectiveness. 📈 When it comes to tools… It all depends! I love the mighty @milwaukeetooleu and the almighty @lidlireland Parkside range is also unreal for value 🔨🔧🪛🪚 and a special mention to @screwfix_ireland ‘s @erbaueruk range too.
