Yesterday, I reached a major video production milestone — the Flagler Films YouTube channel surpassed 1,000,000 views.

In a world where “going viral” often defines success, I’m genuinely grateful for this milestone and for everyone who has taken the time to watch, engage with and share the work.

Since establishing Flagler Films in 2003 in Portland, Oregon, it has grown into an award-winning, full-service video production company specializing in outdoor recreation, travel, and adventure storytelling. Now based in Celbridge, County Kildare, Ireland, the focus remains the same: capturing the beauty of nature and the reality of exploration through authentic visual storytelling.

Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to travel across five continents, trekking more than 22,000 km to document stories of adventure, endurance, and the natural world. Much of this work happens in remote and demanding environments, where planning, resilience, and production experience all play a role in simply being able to capture the moment. I’m grateful for that challenge as much as the result — it’s what makes the storytelling meaningful.

Most of all, I love what I do.

This is another step in an ongoing journey. I’m grateful to everyone who has followed along so far, and I look forward to sharing many more stories, landscapes and adventures ahead.

And just like that, my 8-month contract with EY, working with the Dublin Creative Team, has come to an end.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time working as a Senior Videographer and Editor at EY, Ireland’s largest professional services firm. Over the past number of months, I had the opportunity to work across a wide variety of productions alongside an incredibly talented creative team.

With over 20 years of experience working as a self-employed filmmaker, producer, videographer, and editor, stepping into a large corporate environment in the heart of Dublin was a noticeable shift in scale and pace. The transition into EY went very well, and I quickly adapted to the rhythm of a busy in-house creative team — really enjoying the challenge throughout.

What I enjoyed most though was the people. Working with such creative individuals every day, combined with the good craic and positive atmosphere, made the whole experience even better. Thank you to everyone for making me feel so welcome from day one.

Wishing the whole crew all the very best with the upcoming move to Wilton Park and all the exciting projects ahead.
Now it’s time to focus my energy back into Flagler Films productions and a number of exciting projects already underway. At the same time, after getting a real taste of the corporate production world over the past 8 months, I’ll definitely be open to future freelance and contract opportunities around Ireland.

I’m also really looking forward to guiding Camino walking trips with Ian Taylor Trekking starting this September.

On to the next adventure.
