Clon serves up a treat to 1,800 people on the street

Well known local ladies Mary O Donovan and Ber Kirby enjoying the Mardi gras atmosphere in Clonakilty today at the town’s street carnival .

Upwards of 1,800 people enjoyed two appetizing dishes, all topped off with wine and desserts in what was a wonderful community initiative . Speaking on behalf of the multiple food vendors , Des O Dowd of Inchydoney Hotel expressed his satisfaction with the manner in which the day went and said it was a a hugely successful event

Clonakilty Street Carnival success

Another successful Street Carnival in Clonakilty today despite the cold and the threat of rain . Hundreds of people enjoyed excellent cuisine prepared by local chefs in the hospitality sector on Pearse St , with only a slight drizzle for a short period which didn’t mar the festivities

Super achievement Nicola Tuthill!!

Nicola Tuthill finished ninth in the final of the women’s hammer at the European Championships in Rome last night, the 20-year-old Bandon athlete producing a best of 69.09m in her opening three throws, with only the top eight given another three throws.
