Travellers’ Voice Magazine attended the 12th Traveller Pride Awards ceremony.
The Traveller Pride Awards Ireland 2024 are part of a broader initiative aimed at celebrating the contributions and achievements of the Traveller community within Irish society. The awards are a central feature of the annual Traveller Pride Week, organised to instil pride and highlight the positive impact of Travellers across various sectors.
This year's theme is “Hidden Voices: A Celebration of Those Less Heard,” focusing on individuals whose contributions might often go unnoticed. Categories include Education, Music, Arts & Culture, Youth, Sport, Enterprise & Innovation, Intersectionality, and Community
The Traveller Pride Awards play a crucial role in addressing the challenges faced by the Traveller community, including combating stereotypes and discrimination. By honoring achievements in diverse fields, these awards not only uplift the individuals recognized but also inspire the broader community to continue striving for excellence and inclusion.
The 2024 awards ceremony took place on May 23, 2024 at the Lighthouse Cinema in Smithfield, Dublin.
