"If you don't start repairing your relationship with your children now, they won't be there for you when you need them later." That was David's message to Christine about Kody, just before the series of apologies began. I'm quite puzzled as to why some on this forum view David negatively, when in my opinion, what he said was a voice of reason and wisdom.
As someone who had a father figure who should have received similar advice, I can assure you that there's real truth in that statement. Kody's now-adult children from his first three wives (OG3) will undoubtedly be trying to recover as best they can from the impact of the neglect and emotional stress they've endured over the years.
They may be less willing to open up when Kody finally realizes—a few years from now—that he had no right to treat them as if they were a burden or simply a part of his past to deal with...
