Marc Marquez has a new target ahead of MotoGP 2025. The reason is, he believes defending a factory team of the caliber of Ducati Lenovo Team means having to try to aim for the world title from the first race. This target is certainly different from the target he set with Gresini Racing in 2024.

Gresini Racing's new rider, Fermin Aldeguer, admitted that he made Pedro Acosta his role model in his first season in MotoGP 2025. Aldeguer also wants to win the title of best debutant or rookie of the year, like his childhood friend last year.

Aldeguer, now 19, and Acosta, now 20, both come from Murcia, Spain. They have known each other since they were children and even often spend time together. However, when they started to get serious about motorcycle racing, they were no longer close. Moreover, Aldeguer and Acosta did not take the same 'path' to MotoGP. Acosta headed to the Grand Prix after competing in JuniorGP and the Red Bull Rookies Cup, while Aldeguer had to struggle competing in the European Talent Cup, European Superstock 600, CEV Moto2, and MotoE before getting to the Grand Prix via Moto2.

Now, Aldeguer has followed Acosta to MotoGP. Although no longer close, the two still have a good relationship, and Aldeguer uses 'El Tiburon' as his reference. Even so, the Spanish rider also believes that he must focus on himself and not compare himself too much to others.

This is the first season in which the eight-time world champion, Marc Marquez, boards the red ship of the Ducati factory, after sailing in 2024 with Gresini Racing with the Desmosedici GP 23, finishing third in the World Championship. For Marquez,, the two-year contract means another chance to win the title that he had not held since 2019, before his career was interrupted by a serious injury in Jerez in 2020, in which he lost his right humerus bone due to a fracture, followed by four operations.

Marc Marquez's First Appearance in Ducati Lenovo Team Uniform in MotoGP 2025

It is official that Marc Marquez will wear the red uniform in MotoGP 2025. He finally appeared in public wearing the Ducati Lenovo Team uniform and racing suit at the launch of the squad in Madonna di Campiglio, Italy, on Monday (20/1/2025).

The squad based in Borgo Panigale, Bologna, Italy, is confirmed to recruit Marquez, who is an eight-time world champion. In accordance with the slogan 'Todo al Rojo' that he carries, Marquez now wears an 'all red' uniform, or 'tutto rosso' in Italian.

Marquez is entering his second season at Ducati, considering that he has been defending Gresini Racing since 2024. Marquez defended Gresini after deciding to leave Repsol Honda a year earlier than the duration of his contract.

Despite riding an old bike with mediocre technical support, Marquez was able to achieve 10 Grand Prix podiums including 3 wins, and 10 Sprint podiums including 1 win. He also ended last season in third place.

Marquez was chosen as Bagnaia's partner after beating Martin and Bastianini in the 'audition' for the second Ducati Lenovo Team rider in 2025. Marquez was contracted for two seasons, and received a Desmosedici GP25 motorbike, aka the latest factory spec motorbike.

Together with Bagnaia, Marquez won a total of 11 Grand Prix world titles under the Ducati garage. They are predicted to make Ducati more competitive, but also build a fierce rivalry of the caliber of Valentino Rossi vs Jorge Lorenzo at Yamaha in 2008-2010 and 2013-2016.

Ducati Lenovo Team officially launched their squad ahead of the start of the 2025 MotoGP season. They became the fourth team to present their line up this season, namely in Madonna di Campiglio, Italy, on Monday (20/1/2025).

The squad based in Borgo Panigale, Bologna, Italy, is confirmed to retain three-time world champion, Pecco Bagnaia, and recruit eight-time world champion Marc Marquez.

Ducati Lenovo Team faces the 2025 season with high spirits and motivation, especially after their riders lost to Jorge Martin and Prima Pramac Racing in the fight for the 2024 MotoGP world title. They will carry the latest factory-spec motorbike, the Desmosedici GP25.

This season, they are carrying a livery or pattern that is too different from the 2024 pattern. Still dominated by Ducati's signature red color, there are several lines applied to the side of the motorbike's fairing, as well as on the front of the fairing right where the racing number is listed.

Pecco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez also married a total of 11 Grand Prix world titles under the Ducati garage. The Ducati factory squad will launch the 2025 MotoGP season on Monday 20 January in Italy, marking Marc Marquez's first outing in the brand's official colours.

Ducati will hold its traditional launch event at the Italian ski resort of Madonna di Campiglio on Monday, where it will unveil its factory colours for the upcoming MotoGP season.

The 2025 season will mark Marquez's return to factory riding, having spent 2024 with satellite team Gresini Ducati after opting out of the factory Honda team. He will join two-time MotoGP world champion Bagnaia on what is expected to be the team to beat in 2025.
