Is personalization in outreach messages worth it?

I actually did a test on this last week to see what’s better;

automated and non-personalized OR manual and personalized outreach

The results are in the picture below.

My conclusion: Appointment % is much higher when personalizing messages, but it took me much much more time to send those 70 personalized emails than 350 messages.

You decide… I’m sticking to automated, time is money🤷‍♂️

Here’s how to get 3x more responses to your cold outreach messages:

Put an “easy to say yes” or “hard to say no” question at the end of your message.

That means you shouldn’t ask for a call in your first message because that’s a “big” thing for a prospect who doesn’t know who you are.

You should tell them the end result/their desire that sounds amazing, and ask them if they’re open to hearing more.

If you make their desire tempting enough they will feel like they’re missing out if they say no.

Make it easy to say yes to, and hard to say no to.

The prospect has to care about the problem before they care about the solution.

This is a common mistake in sales, you start explaining your service before you make the prospect realize their problem.

People always value the solution more once they recognize the problem they have.

Quality VS Quantity

What’s more important when it comes to cold outreach; Quality or Quantity?

If you send out 1000 messages each day, no matter how bad they are, you will get positive responses.

Does that mean that is a way to go?

NO. Here’s why:

The messages don’t even have to be THAT personalized, you just have to be different from the other 13 people who messaged that same company/person that day. Be creative with it.

With the help of all the tools today, you can easily send out 400+ QUALITY messages per day and if you use the tools correctly you can achieve both quality and quantity at the same time.

With the system I built we’re getting a 2% booking rate, that’s 8 sales appointments per day. Just feeding the software with new quality leads once per week.

I started getting the most out of my direct outreach once I

1) Started focusing on volume and consistency
2) Started being unique with my messages

Here’s a tip:

Stop explaining who you are and what you do in your outreach messages, prospects don’t care.

The only thing they care about is the end result you can bring them.

So rather than explaining what you do, just tell them what they can get from you, and once they show interest explain them how.

It’s that simple.
