Acta Botanica Croatica Acta Botanica Croatica is an international journal that publishes original articles in the field of plant sciences, from the molecular level to ecosystems.

The journal covers all major fields of plant biology: vegetation, systematic botany and flora, ecology, arheobotany, anatomy and morphology, molecular biology, genetics and cytogenetics, physiology/stress physiology, toxicology, biochemistry, metabolomics, plant related microbiology, algal taxonomy and ecology. Today we celebrated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the journal Acta Botanica Croatica. After the ceremony, we participated in a Panel Discussion with guests, editors-in-chief of botanical journals from Italy (Prof. Gianmaria Bonari), Hungary (Dr. Zoltan Botta-Dukat), Serbia (Prof. Marko Sabovljević) and Slovenia (Prof. Urban Šilc). 🌿 This year we proudly celebrate 100 years of Acta Botanica Croatica – the only Croatian botanical journal with international reach for a full century.

Professor Ljudevit Ilijanić (born 1928) served as the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Acta Botanica Croatica from 1969 to 1992. His scientific work has been primarily focused on the flora and vegetation of Croatia. Academician Stjepan Horvatić (1899–1975) was a professor of botany at the Department of Botany, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb. The main and most productive area of his scientific work was vegetation research, with a particular focus on the vegetation of the Mediterranean part of Croatia. He served as Director of the Institute of Botany at the University of Zagreb from 1960 to 1973. He held the position of Editor-in-Chief of the journal Acta Botanica Croatica from 1957 to 1968.
