FEDEORA will establish juries in Ischia and Zagreb

FEDEORA will continue its jury at Hercegnovi film festival in Montenegro, which will be held from 22 to 29 August 2024., and will establish 2 new juries, at:
Ischia film festival in Italy, which will be held from 29.6. till 6.7.2024.
European film festival in Zagreb, Croatia, which will be held from 1 till 28 July 2024. More details will follow.

At the 52nd International Film Festival FEST one Belgrade, the FEDEORA award for the best Euro-Mediterranean film in the Main Competition Programme went to the film ‘Working Class Goes to Hell’ directed by Mladen Đorđević. Members of the jury: Sergey Lavrentiev – film critic (jury president), Dr Nevena Daković – full professor, film theorist, critic and publicist, Nicola Falcinella – journalist and film critic, unanimously made the decision, which they justified with the following words:
‘A film of an exceptional director’s handwriting with a harsh commentary on local everyday life and great acting performances, which stands out for its production belonging to the entire Euro- Mediterranean region.’
Upon receiving the award, director Mladen Đorđević said: ‘Thank you to the jury for the award, this is a great honor. The film “The Working Class Goes to Heaven” by Elio Petri from 1971 is a film the title of which I consciously argue with, I reply to that title. I saw the film in the nineties as a student,’ said Đorđević.

FEDEORA had a jury at 36th edition of Montenegro Film Festival in Herceg Novi, that was held from 22nd till 28th August 2023. The Special Mention of the FEDEORA jury went to KAYMAK by Milcho Manchevski for the deep, stylistic, dynamic and courageous approach to contemporary relationships, uncompromisingly directed by a mature director with unique style. The FEDEORA award for the best movie went to SAFE PLACE by Juraj Lerotić powerful and thrilling story of psychological struggle and loss that captures our hearts, directed with strong hand and deep empathy, with masterful performance from the main actors. Jury members: Marina Kostova, North Macedonia, SDK.mk; Kerem Akca, Turkey, Posta Newspaper; Vuk Perović, Radio and Television of Montenegro.

The FEDEORA award for the best Eur-Med film in the FEST (Belgrade) main competition program went to the film:
DAMNES NE PLEURENT PAS (France, Belgium, Maroco)
directed by Fyzal Boulifa, for an authentic film story realized in a developed and rich film language.
