Security guards blocked the pro-democracy legislators from getting close to pro-Beijing lawmaker Chan Kin-por, who was appointed by Legco president Andrew Leung to preside over the election of a House Committee chairperson.
A vote was finally called by Chan after numerous pan-dems were evicted. Pro-Beijing lawmaker Starry Lee was re-elected chairwoman of the committee.
