Curl Fete 2024 was a vibrant explosion of natural beauty, creativity, and self-expression, marking the 8th year of this incredible Natural Hair and Beauty Expo in Guyana.

A SPLASH of everything hair and beauty was present at Curl Fete Natural Hair & Beauty Expo. Yesterday was the first day of the 2-Day activity and scores of patrons came out to support the initiative and the 110 vendors at the Promenade Gardens.
CurlFete continues TODAY with even more excitement.
This event was created in 2016 with the purpose of empowering women and girls to embrace their unique and naturally textured hair, nurture conversations on self-confidence and celebrate the joy of caring for kinky and curly hair. It has since expanded to include the overall wellbeing of both men and women.

Making full use of the extra holiday, Genesis Carnival added a new event to their calendar this year, Kool Out Beach Party - a wash down after the packed weekend of activities.
Featuring a lineup of Boom Djs, Guyanese soca sensations - Omaiah Hall, O.K.C The Artiste and Nesta, the patrons were well entertained leading up to the main act of the night, Patrice Roberts Music who brought the curtains down on the exciting weekend.
The Dancehall fans came out in their numbers last evening at the National Stadium for the ultimate dancehall show of year, BADERATION - a Genesis Carnival calendar activity that never disappoints!
Featuring a star-studded lineup this year, with some of the most trending acts in the dancehall arena, Alabama, JQuan, ShaneilMuir, 450 and Aidonia.

In a captivating blend of history and fantasy, Seishonen Guyana brought forth "Fairre of the Ages," a Renaissance Fair that enchanted patrons with its unique concept. Set against the backdrop of the Promenade Gardens’ landscape, attendees embraced the opportunity to embody their favourite characters from medieval lore, including the iconic Witcher and a plethora of other beloved figures.
From the moment attendees stepped foot into the Fair, they were transported to a world where creativity knew no bounds. Colourful and creative costumes adorned the crowd, each person embracing their chosen character with passion and enthusiasm, partaking in the excitement from Dungeons & Dragons, Archery and more.

Scores of steelpan lovers flocked the Kingston Beach on Sunday evening to witness the annual steelpan competition – PANORAMA!
Guyana Police Force Steel Orchestra, reclaimed their champion title that was taken away last year after the defeat from GTT Kunjaz All-Stars. Pan Groove also returned to the scene this year and placed third, behind Kunjaz.
Living up to its anticipation, the event featured several youth bands namely: President's College, Queen's College, The Bishops' High School, National School of Music, Buxton Pride, West Demerara Secondary, Berbice High School, New Amsterdam Multilateral and Police B Division who all made the decision tough for the judges.
Amidst all excellent performances, Berbice High was declared winner, setting an exciting mood for the three large bands.
The rammed National Stadium Tarmac last evening at Masharama proves that Dancehall Music is loved by Guyanese, and the artistes did not disappoint‼️
With a lineup of all the trending hits on the iconic Dutty Money Riddim by Jamaican Producer, Rvssian and a few Guyanese Dancehall artistes, patrons evidently enjoyed the show.

To celebrate his incredible 34-year journey in the music industry, Jumo Primo hosted a concert dubbed "Jumo and Friends", with a star-studded lineup!
The concert showcased an array of talented Guyanese artistes who graced the stage to pay tribute to the Soca icon, who brought the curtains down on the show with an electrifying performance, demonstrating why he remains a revered figure in Guyana's music industry.
