The First Citizens Group released a short report on global warming, the mitigation plan and its impact.
Here a few things to note:
To mitigate global warming, nations have entered into international agreements on climate change.
The objective is to limit the average global temperature increase to below 2C. This must be attained by reaching Net Zero emissions by 2050.
To reduce greenhouse gas emissions, substantial investment and expenditure is needed for capital infrastructure that promotes utilization and accessibility of green energy.
Unexpected events such as the invasion of Ukraine, have exposed the global dependency to Russia’s fossil fuels and increased the urgency to improve energy security.
