WALES PROJECT UPDATE: Construction 68% completed; the foundation for the remaining to be completed in 120 days
Construction of Guyana’s Gas-to-Energy project in Wales is 68% completed, according to the contractor, Lindsayca Guyana.
Today, a team from the company provided a status update to Guyana’s Prime Minister Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark Phillips, the newly appointed Minister of Public Utilities and Aviation Deodat Indar, along with the Head of the Gas-to-Energy Taskforce Winston Brassington.
The power plant aspect of the project is approximately 76% completed.
The Project is a flagship initiative aimed at cutting electricity costs, reducing emissions, and boosting industrial development by harnessing natural gas from the offshore Stabroek Block.
It involves a pipeline that will transport up to 50 million cubic feet of gas per day from ExxonMobil’s Liza field to Wales on the West Bank of the Demerara River.
