Braiding your natural hair after a few months of letting it rest or grow can be a great protective styling option. However, it’s important to consider a few key points:
1. Preparation: Ensure your hair is clean, moisturized, and detangled before braiding to minimize breakage and promote healthy growth.
2. Hair Condition: After months without braiding, check the condition of your hair and scalp. Trim any split ends, and address dryness or damage to prevent further issues while braided.
3. Tension: Avoid braids that are too tight, as they can strain your edges and scalp, potentially leading to hair loss or traction alopecia.
4. Duration: Don’t keep braids in for too long (typically 6–8 weeks max), as this can lead to matting and excessive shedding when you remove them.
5. Maintenance: While braided, continue caring for your scalp with oils or sprays to keep it hydrated and clean.
Taking these steps ensures your natural hair remains healthy and thrives while braided!

I am deeply grateful for the success I achieved in my exam. Thank you to everyone who supported and believed in me—your encouragement gave me the strength to persevere. I also thank my teachers for their guidance and my friends and family for their unwavering support. This accomplishment is a shared victory, and I am truly thankful for all the help and positivity along the way.

Dear New Nurse,

Welcome to a journey that is as rewarding as it is challenging. Remember, you’ve chosen a profession where your compassion, strength, and knowledge will make a real difference every single day. There will be moments when the path feels overwhelming, but those are the times you grow the most.

Every patient you care for is a testament to your courage and commitment. Even on the toughest days, know that your kindness can bring comfort, your skills can save lives, and your presence can offer hope.

Take it one day at a time, lean on your colleagues, and never stop learning. You’re not just stepping into a career—you’re stepping into a purpose. You’ve got this!

With admiration,
Jennifer Ezinne.

A LETTER TO MYSELF 👇

I have chosen a career where my compassion and skill will profoundly impact lives every single day. Remember, it’s okay not to know everything right away—nursing is as much about learning and growing as it is about caring. I will trust my instincts, lean on my team, and celebrate the small victories. Each patient i help is a reminder that I’m making a difference. I got this!

Bet on yourself.

I am yet to see anyone that wished their way to greatness or anybody that wished their way to their dream country. Result dont answer to wishes but premeditated action. A wish therefore, is the easiest and perhaps the laziest thing to do in the journey to accomplishment.

The day you realize that nobody is coming to save you from doldrums of poverty or self-defeat is the day you retrace your steps and take the bull of your destiny by the horn. Scholarship will not locate when you do not apply for it. Japa will not happen to you while lying on your bed. You can't literally pray wishes into manifestation without showing workings. 'I will do it' is not the same thing as 'I am doing it'. Procrastinated action is also a wish.

So bet on yourself, so you can propel yourself to succeed. Bet on your abilities that it can give you better opportunities. Bet on yourself, and believe you are throwing in the hotel till the right doors open for you. Bet on yourself enough to spur you to believe anything is possible.

Until you bet on yourself, nothing will happen till you happen.

Remember there is never going to be a perfect time to take a step, make a move or bet on your future. Life will give you what you demand not what you deserve. Everybody deserves a good life but not all will get to experience it till you demand more from life.

Some doors open when you knock. Some other doors are open with the right key combination. While some doors will never open till you take them out of the way completely.

If doors refuse to open, then take every windows of opportunity seriously. Your window may be upskilling, pivoting to a new career path or challenging yourself to do better.

In the end, nobody will believe in you till you believe in yourself.

Don't settle.

It is easy to blame your family background, your immediate circumstances, your past and your personal limitations for your current station in life. Apportioning blame has never changed things rather taking charge and addressing your situation will.

Not matter how much you wish to have a better life or change your story, you need to remember that good things and indeed the best things don't happen by chance but by planning and taking action.

Nobody will offer you scholarship on the grounds that you are poor and going through harrowing times. While that may count, you need to demonstrate research and impact potential. Likewise, your Japa dreams will not come true on the account of prayers alone, you need to make moves and put in the work in the direction of your goals.

So I say to you, don't settle. Don't settle for what life gives to you. Many atimes you have to take the bulls by the horn and demand from life what is yours. Sitting still and wishing will never make anyone great.

Don't settle for crumbs, when the mansion is yours. For every time you settle, you retire your resolve to do more. If you must indeed settle, settle when you broken the chains that held you back from achieving your destiny.

Life will not give you what you deserve but what you demand.

Japa secret 001.

Your first visa and what you do with it determines your Japa experience. If you Japa with a student visa and you play your cards right you have a higher chance of permanentizing your stay abroad. If you set out with Permanent Residency from the start, you are in a vantage position to enjoy abroad goodies very early and well. If you enter with visit visa without any concrete plans, Japa will be very long for you. Your abroad experience will be broader than others.

Importantly, the country visa you have also determines the opportunities accessible to you. Every country can be abroad but not all visas have Japa benefits. Some are just visa vignette if limited value while some visas carry weight and occupy space. For example, a United States or Canada visit visa gives you access to visit at least 7 countries in world including Turks & Caicos, Costa Rica, Mexico.
You will not get anything from Cyprus visit visa. So choose wisely to Japa well.
