It was back in 2011 - when we were preparing to launch the first issue of Steel For An Age - that we were intensely conversing with the then revamped Albuquerque band Savage Wizdom , who were incessantly working on what would later become their sophomore album, A New Beginning. Sharing similar amount of excitement, each for our own reasons, not only did they honor us by conducting and include an interview in our initial attempt, but they were also generous enough to share an early version of one of their then new songs (Do or Die) that ended up in the depicted compilation CD which accompanied the fanzine. Needless to mention the pleasant surprise we were struck by as soon as we heard the final result of the said album. Released in 2013, it was a fantastic token of up to date melodic Power metal, composed in the same fashion as they did it in the 80s and thankfully never retro-ish, showcased in a well balanced overall performance, without one individual part overpowering another.
Fast forward 11 years, tomorrow marks the official release date of their third output by the title "Who's Laughing Now" and the recurrence of the aforementioned excitement materializes in this appreciation post, hoping they will excite us more often from now on.
Below is the link to order directly from the band and don't hesitate to express adoration to them, 'cause you will absolutely adore them.
Thank you Steve, thank you Pablo!
