JUST IN: The Gambia Navy's high-speed patrol vessel, SEADOG, intercepted a wooden canoe carrying over 90 migrants late Wednesday in Gambian waters.

The boat, believed to have departed Joal, Senegal, was stopped near Faraba. It carried 32 Gambians, 32 Senegalese, 27 Guineans, 1 Malian, including 12 women and 11 children.

The migrants have been handed over to immigration authorities as investigations continue. The Gambia Navy vows to intensify marine patrols to combat illegal migration.

Adama Bojang contracted till 2027

Adama Bojang one of the biggest prospects of the Gambia U20 has penned a five year contract with Stade de Reims. Bojang born in Bakau has 7 goals in 15 matches for the Gambia U20( CAF + FIFA competition). Bojang who played for Steve Biko has 35 goals & 15 assists for the Bakau-based team. The Gambian Police have taken more than 90 suspected criminals into custody since launching their all-out fearless crackdown on crimes and criminal hideouts in the country.

The key places where the suspects are nabbed are Brufut, Sukuta, Kololi Taban, Tabokoto, and Abuko.

The operation comes amid rising havoc by criminals including thieves on the communities. The operation has been widely welcomed in the country.

Gambian young winger Colley expected to help South African club triumph as he signs three-year contract

Salifu Colley, Gambian U-20 winger, who is fondly known as Bayano" has been highly rated to help his new South African club, Stellenbosch, triumph.

The young football lad has signed a three-year contract with the club, which will elapse in 2026.

"Salifu is a young and talented footballer who has done exceptionally well last year, having excelled at the U20 World Cup and U20 AFCON,"
Stellenbosch head coach Steve Barker is quoted to have said.

He said Colley has the potential to help the team, adding"he's a very exciting talent and we are very pleased to have brought him on board and for the opportunity to help him develop and reach his full potential. "

Colley earned himself a global recognition after his exceptional performance in in the Africa U-20 cup tournament in Egypt and World cup championship in Argentina.

Police investigate murder of tailor in LatriKunda Sabiji

Police are investigating the murder of one Ousman Touray, who was allegedly stabbed to death in LatriKunda Sabiji.

The deceased is reported to have been stabbed to death by his killer during a tense altercation

Police said in a statement that their previous investigations showed that:" the victim was allegedly stabbed during a heated altercation with a suspect. He was rushed to Ndemban Clinic where he was pronounced dead and the body was escorted to the Banjul mortuary for postmortem examination."

Police are now asking the support of the people to share and report any information that can be helpful to the investigation.
