❤️‍🩹I read a quote online that made me think back to when we were living in the states and all I wanted was less stress so I could be a better mother.

The quote said "children won't say 'I had a rough day, I want to talk about it' they will instead say will you play with me"? It made me so sad, because I remember being in a deep depression in America to the point that I was almost emotionally unavailable to even bond with my children. It required such a healing journey to forgive myself for those days.

One of our subscribers on Youtube commented "The only reason you love Gambia is because your life revolves around your children and Gambia is good for kids, NOT ADULTS. If you weren't a mother you wouldn't stay there".

🤔Well...I'm unable to say what I would or wouldn't do if I wasn't a mother...(I've been a mother for 21yrs and am a mother of 9).

🇬🇲 But one thing for sure is this lifestyle in Africa (Gambia) is the perfect setup for a stay at home mom OR a business owner mom, OR a mom working mom...

Whether you choose a career path or not you will find that motherhood is easier outside of America. In Africa we still have "The village" it takes.

My daughter Aliyah went to America this summer. She planned to stay and work for a year...

Aliyah found herself slipping back into the same depression she had prior to our family's move to Gambia 3 yrs ago.

She's trying to find herself and way at 21 years ago. One thing she's discovered is that being in America isn't supportive of her mental well-being. She decided to come back to Gambia after the summer and make the best of it🇬🇲.

I'm very proud of my daughter, Mashallah.
