All Eyes On Senegal

Senegal is holding its presidential elections on Sunday, with 7,372,110 registered voters expected to participate in the polls. The contest is expected to be very close.

Of the registered voters, 50.3% (3,708,754) are men and 49.7% (3,663,356) are women.

There are 19 candidates in the race, but Cheikh Tidiane Dieye has withdrawn his candidacy to join forces with Bassirou Diomaye Faye, while Rose Wardini has announced support for Amdou Ba.

The Director General for Elections (DGE), in collaboration with the Autonomous National Electoral Commission (CENA), will supervise the election.
