MP Cut Sod For Construction Of Wards For Buoku CHPS Compound
The Member of Parliament for Wenchi Constituency, Alhaji Haruna Seidu has broke the ground for the construction of 36 bed capacity male, female and children wards at Buoku CHPS Compound in the Wenchi Municipality of the Bono Region.
Honourable Alhaji Haruna Seidu expressed that after the completion of the projects the facility can be upgraded to a polyclinic status to serve the over five thousand people in the area and also put end to a situation where both male and female are put in the same room on admission.
At a short ceremony for the sod cutting, the MP said, the projects is expected to be completed in four months period.
He further explained that the project is being funded through his Health Insurance Fund.
The Akwamu Hene of Buoku, Nana Owusu Achiaw on behalf of the Chief of the community, Nana Sarpong Kumannkomah, expressed their profound gratitude to the MP for the projects in the area.
He pledged their support to the MP for more projects to develop the area.
Adu Kwame Samuel,in charge of Reproductive Health and Child Unit (RHC) at the facility describe the projects as a great relief to the healthcare delivery in the area after its completion.
He further appealed to the MP and the Wenchi Municipal Assembly to provide them with a weighing center.
He said lack of a weighing center at the facility forced them to stopped weighing children during the raining season because they used to scale children under the trees surrounding the facility.

Female Teacher Gives Facelift To SDA Basic"A" School At Wenchi
Gifty Twumwaa, a female teacher at Wenchi municipality of the Bono Region has given a facelift to SDA Basic"A" school at Wenchi.
In an interview with Gifty Twumwaa revealed, she was financed by her husband to improve the appearance of the school.
According to her what had inspires her to repaint the facility was that she wants to leave a legacy everywhere she goes to teach.
"When I came to teach in this school I have observed that the school has battle with a lot of challenges so I decided to paint the school to make teaching and learning attractive to the pupils."
She quickly added that the environment school children study in goes a long way to affect their academic performance.
A visit to the school by Radio West Africa, Nana Anfreh Damanta has revealed that the facility is lacking desks, urinal, toilet facility for both teachers and students among others.
The Assembly Member for Ahenfie Electoral Area, who is also the School Management Committee (SMC) Member, Honourable Kassim Mohammed expressed his gratitude to the female teacher for for the excercise and then appealed to other teachers to also emulate her.

Cattle Invade Schools Scared Students Scamper For Safety In Wenchi
Academic work at the SDA Basic Cluster of Schools in Wenchi in the Bono Region, are usually interrupted, following the constant invasion of the school premises by stray cattle.
The stray animals ,roam about the school compound, in the morning and afternoon when classes are in session.
Some of the animals often go the extent of majestically walking and deficating on the verenda of the school.
In an interview with an Assembly Member for the Ahenfie Electoral Area in the Wenchi Municipality, Honourable Kassim Mohammed, said the presence of the animals in the school compound also causes fear and panic among the pupils.
What if one of the cows had knocked down a student in the stampede he bemoaned.
Mr. Kassim Mohammed quickly added that the panic caused is even enough to traumatize a kid.
He then appealed to the Wenchi Municipal Assembly, to ensure that animals in the city are caged to help avert a looming disaster.
He therefore appealed to the Wenchi Municipal Chief Executive, Dr Prince Kwakye Afiriyie the Member of Parliament, Honourable Alhaji Seidu Haruna, the Wenchi Municipal Directorate of the Ghana Education Service and individual benevolence to come to the aid of the school by fencing it to help avert a looming disaster.
