THE LOCAL STORAGE SYSTEM COMMONLY USED IN FARMING COMMUNITIES.

Smallholder farmers in parts of the Upper West Region of Ghana, especially, the Wa West and East Districts still prefer the local storage system of farm produce to modern methods.

The farmers cited the proximity to their homes and farms, the low cost of construction of the local storage system, and the fact that it is multipurpose. It can store both grains and tuber.

The use of local silos (Boor or Buuri or Bugo) is still common in most farming communities in Upper West Region.

SPEAKER DONATES TO NADOWLI-KALEO HOSPITAL

The Rt Hon Speaker of Parliament,
Hon Alban S.K. Bagbin has donated medical supplies to the Nadowli-Kaleo District Hospital at Nadowli in the Upper West Region.

The items are to help improve the health care service delivery in the District and beyond.
He admonished Management and Staff of the Hospital to put the items to good use.
The Rt Hon Speaker had in the past supported the Hospital in various forms.

Upper West is but a Town of Naive,excuse my choice of words but barbaric individuals who doesn't like good things.
The likes of Kennedy Agyapong,Wontuni,Abronye DC, and others are making their various regions and districts proud due to their investment.
Yes they may in one way or the other be meddling in affairs that has no connotation with who they are but are allowed to work and even been protected by their citizens because of the enormous benefits the people get through their endeavors.
But for my Uncles,we couldn't even stand for the GFA president one of our own Kwasi Nyantakyi but allowed him to go down the drain. Many of such people in our region if not abused but are critically criticize, chastised and awaiting their downfall. A lot of people in this region can do more but for the fear of their own people they sit aside so as to enable them take care of their few generation even though the thousands of youth could have benefited from their generosity.
Today another industrious citizen is gone after investing in his beloved region and district.
Arh!! Upper West.
Is a shame. I pray those perpetuators are captured and made to face the law. May they not go unpunished.

DBI: MP CUTS SOD FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF YOUTH CENTER, DONATES 5 STREET BULBS IN BUSSIE-BALIANIA.

The Member of Parliament and the NDC 2024 Parliamentary Candidate for the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa Constituency Hon Dr Sebastian Ngmenenso Sandaare has cut sod for the construction of the a Youth Center at Bussie- Baliania.

In a short ceremony organized by the youth, the MP commended them for the unity that exists among them and indicated his preparedness to continue to support youth development . He indicated that, the building if completed, will serve as a multipurpose structure in the community.

He supported the project with an initial amount of Ghc20.000.00 for the start of the project.He also used the opportunity to advise the youth to open a bank account in their name so that monies meant for developmental purposes can be channelled through it.

The Member of Parliament has also used the opportunity to donate five (5) street lights and repaired a number of damaged street bulbs in the Baliania Community to improve the lighting system in the community.
He also pledged to work assiduously to get some three broken boreholes fixed in the shortest time to avoid health-related diseases and the struggles of women for water.

In a response, the leader of the community youth, Mr Dorsah Jonas, aka Boozing on behalf of the youth expressed their utmost appreciations to the Law-maker for such a support. He also encouraged his colleagues to get involved in the project as unity moves mountains. He also urged the youth to rally behind the MP.

The Member of Parliament was accompanied by the NDC constituency chairman Mr Boniface Tienaah , constituency Secretary Mr James Wor, Constituency Organizer Hon Peter TK Tabiasi Naa , some Constituency Executive Committee of the NDC, Bussie East Assembly man, Hon Antuongmen Prosper , Bussie zonal chairman of the party, some Branch Executives, Bussie East Assembly-man-Elect, Hon Prosper Maaledoma and other community members.

Sungmaale 90.5 fm a community radio base in the Wa municipal celebrates it's 10th anniversary with lawyer Joyce Bawa Mogtari.

The event will be happening on the 13th of January 2024 at the Regional library under the theme " the role of the media to the sociopolitical and cultural development of our community ".
