🚨24-year-old Jerome Ruben allegedly wore fake breasts, a dress, and a hijab while carrying out a bank robbery on the University of Houston campus.

Ruben was arrested on Friday, January 9, after investigators tracked him leaving his apartment. He was stopped in traffic and taken into custody by the Harris County Violent Persons Task Force.

Law enforcement sources say Ruben was driving the same vehicle used to flee the TDECU bank robbery that occurred two days earlier on January 7 at the University of Houston.

During the traffic stop, investigators reportedly found a large amount of cash inside the vehicle. Officers also recovered a black hijab and a black dress, items believed to have been worn during the robbery.

A bank employee told police the suspect appeared to be wearing fake breasts, which investigators believe was used as a disguise to avoid identification.

Ruben appeared before a judge on Monday and was charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. His bond for that charge was set at $2 million.

In a separate case, Ruben has also been charged in connection with an attempted robbery at a cash store in Baytown, along with other violent felony charges, according to court documents.

Bond for the additional charges was set at $3 million, bringing Ruben’s total bond to $5 million.

🚨22-year-old Gladys Johnson-Ball, who was five months pregnant with her second child, was found dead after a fire inside her bedroom at her family’s home in Milwaukee.

Police say Gladys was killed by her boyfriend, 21-year-old Cameron Washington, who lived in the home with her and her family near 26th Street and Locust.

On Monday, January 5, around 11:30 p.m., Gladys’ mother, Michelle Johnson, smelled smoke in the house and went to check on her daughter. When she tried to enter the bedroom, Washington blocked the door and would not allow her inside. He then pointed a gun at her other daughter and ran out of the house.

Michelle Johnson later forced her way into the bedroom, put out the fire, and pulled Gladys away from the flames, but Gladys was unresponsive.

Investigators reported that Gladys had bruises on her body and blood coming from her nose and mouth. Family members told police the fire started moments after the assault, and Washington fled the scene.

Authorities believe the couple’s 3-year-old daughter may have witnessed the incident.

Police located and arrested Washington less than 30 minutes after the 911 call. He was taken into custody without incident.

Washington is facing six felony charges, including arson and first-degree recklessly endangering safety. A judge set his bond at $100,000. Prosecutors say he could face more than 50 years in prison if convicted on all charges.

Court officials said homicide charges have not yet been filed, as the medical examiner’s report was not complete at the time of charging.

Washington’s next court appearance is scheduled for January 20.

🚨44-year-old Shawntez Marshaun Gregory showed up outside Romulus Middle School in Michigan around 9:50 a.m. wanting to pick up his son. School officials denied him entry. Gregory allegedly fired several shots near the building, but not at the school. The school went on lockdown, and police were called. No one was injured.

Gregory was arrested by Romulus police.

In a virtual court appearance, he refused to answer the judge’s questions, stuck his fingers in his ears, and went on a tirade.

The judge asked him to state his name for the record, and Gregory said, “Nope, good f—g bye. Don’t need to talk to me, quit f—g playing with me.”

At one point, he told the judge, “Why don’t you get a real job?” He repeated that he didn’t need to talk and demanded that officials “not play with my son.”

Gregory has a history of trespassing and previously took his son from school against court orders.

Prosecutors requested that he remain in custody with no contact allowed with the school, staff, students, his son, or ex-wife.

He will return to court on January 20 for a probable cause hearing.

🔴Out of fear of the death penalty, a man confessed to a murder he did not commit — and lost 35 years of his life.

Charlie Vaughn was released from prison on Friday ,Jan 9, after serving 35 years for the 1988 murder and r@pe of 78-year-old Myrtle Holmes in Fordyce.

Vaughn was convicted in 1992 after pleading guilty.

Years later, he said he only confessed because police threatened him with the death penalty if he did not say what they told him to say.

On Friday morning, a judge threw out Vaughn’s conviction and sentenced him to time already served.

Vaughn walked out of the courthouse a free man.

DNA evidence from the crime scene later proved that another man, Reginald Early, committed the crime alone.

Early confessed and told a federal court he acted by himself. He is now serving life in prison.

The judge ruled that Vaughn’s original plea and conviction were based on serious legal errors.

Prosecutors did not object to Vaughn’s release.

Vaughn’s lawyer said his client is mentally disabled, dropped out of high school, and could not describe the crime when he pleaded guilty.

At the time, Vaughn could not even name the street where the crime happened.

Police had also placed an informant in Vaughn’s jail cell.

The informant secretly recorded Vaughn in exchange for having drug charges dropped.

The case went to trial twice, but both times juries could not agree.

In the second trial, DNA evidence that cleared Vaughn was not presented, even though it identified Early as the possible attacker.

Two other people once convicted in the case were fully cleared years ago.

After decades of appeals, a judge finally granted Vaughn’s last request for relief, saying the court needed to correct a miscarriage of justice.

Vaughn now plans to stay with family friends, find work, and rebuild his life.

Moments after an ICE agent fatally shot Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis, a man who identified himself as a doctor was barred by officers from checking on the victim.

Video taken by a witness in the aftermath of the shooting on Wednesday, Jan. 7.

The video picks up after the woman's SUV crashed into a parked car after she was shot by the ICE agent.

"Can I go check a pulse?," a man asks.

An agent tells the man, "No," and to back up.

"I'm a physician," the man replied.

"I don't care," one agent is heard saying, while another says that EMS is on the way and that they had their own medics on scene.

A woman then yells, "Where are they?," apparently referring to medical response, and is told to relax.

"How can I relax when you just killed my f—ing neighbor?," she responds.
