MANCHESTER CITY STAR, Benjamin Mendy moved to HIGH SECURITY PRISON

PREM r**e charge star Benjamin Mendy has been switched to one of Britain’s grimmest jails amid fears for his safety.

The Manchester City defender, 27, spent Christmas at top-security prison Strangeways.

The French international, who is accused of seven counts of r**e, was driven to Manchester from Liverpool’s category-B HMP Altcourse on December 23.

The £300m takeover of Newcastle United has officially been completed, with a Saudi-led consortium ending Mike Ashley's 14-year ownership of the club.

The Premier League confirmed the takeover in a statement on Thursday, saying it had received "legally binding assurances" that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will not control Newcastle United.

~~~ASHGOLD, INTER ALLIES charged over match-fixing allegations~~~

Ashantigold SC and Inter Allies FC have both been charged by the GFA Prosecutor on counts of misconduct for match manipulation in their 2020/21 Ghana Premier League Week 34 match played at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on July 17, 2021.

After investigations into the acts of misconduct, the GFA Prosecutor charged Ashantigold SC on three counts of misconduct for breaching Article 34(5)(a), Article 34(6)(d) of the GFA Premier League Regulations, 2019, Article 18(1) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019.

Inter Allies FC have also been charged on two counts of misconduct for breaching Article 34(5)(a) and Article 34(6)(d) of the GFA Premier League Regulations, 2019.

Both Clubs are expected to submit their Statements of Defence to the charges on or before Wednesday, September 22 after which the GFA Disciplinary Committee will adjudicate their cases respectively.
Some Players and Officials of both Clubs have also been charged.

SOUTH AFRICA'S PATRICE MOTSEPE ELECTED CAF PRESIDENT

He was elected by popular acclamation on Friday, March 12 as he was the sole contender for the top job on the African continent.

He replaces Dr Ahmad Ahmad, who was in 2020 handed a 5-year ban by the sport’s world governing body. This was recently reduced to two years.

Motsepe owns Mamelodi Sundowns and since making his intentions known to contest the CAF presidency has received massive support.
