"It is my distinct honor to pass the torch to you. You've earned it and will excel wherever God takes you for women's empowerment " Bishop T. D Jakes
Bishop passed the torch to his daughter pastor Sarah, - woman thou loosed now evolved. My take :
Leadership is about impact, showing direction and molding the next generation(mirror the next leader). As entrepreneurs, are we involving our children in learning the dynamics of business or any profession we find ourselves in?
Growing up, I discovered that our mothers doing petty trading in the market never saw the need to involve us. Perhaps they see their field as too dirty or undignified enough for their children studying in university because white collar job is a sign of success or exposure. Ironically the educated white collars are now running to them(market women) for loans and all sorts of facilities to meet their target as bankers.
Many white collar folks are indebted, frustrated and some are now questioning the benefit of the western education that lacks the prevailing reality of business understanding . Interestingly many of the educated folks are paying now to learn(entrepreneurship) what their parents could have freely injected in their consciousness in the same manner we all learnt religion and even our local dialer effortlessly.
It is possible that Mrs Sarah Robert had attended several theology institutions for knowledge however no greater impact as the one she grew up with, running in her vein through the teaching of her father Bishop TD Jakes. She earned it by showing her capacity having learned from the best.
Therefore as parent let us not only be intentional about impacting knowledge of the holy teaching (Bible & Quran) in our children but also groom them into our line of profession or something we have expertise in, no profession is less important, who could believe music in Nigeria can influence the world, won't you be proud to be the father of wizkid, Davido or Burna Boy meanwhile some old musician never believed in their craft rather they ignorantly forced their kids into other stuff.
