Excerpts of NDC demonstration on economic hardship in Accra today. The demonstration dabbed "kumi preko reloaded" was expected to be massively attended by aggrieved citizens who are hit so hard by the recent economic downturn in the country.

Despite every effort by government and its officials to explain the global nature of the situation has not been taken lightly by the opposition parties especially the major one (ndc)

According to leading members of ruling party (NPP), the major opposition party has taken advantage of the global economic crisis to deceive the less privileged citizens to sympathize with them and to support their bid to take over the seat of government in 2024 elections.

Leading members of the ruling party alleged that the demonstration was abysmally attended by a group of disgruntled illiterates who have not gotten better explanation of the situation at hand, though they acknowledged the country is really facing extreme economic difficulties, due to COVID-19 negative impacts coupled with Russia - Ukraine War.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has questioned the basis for former President John Dramani Mahama's continuous comment that he left behind a “strong economy” when he was exiting office on January 7, 2017. Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana, the President indicated that the erstwhile Mahama administration ended with a GDP growth of 3.4% with a fiscal deficit of 9.6%.Akufo-Addo said, “Within two years of being in office , the Mahama administration run to World Bank for policy credibility for better tutelage in the management of its public financing…especially from somebody who is today saying that the IMF economy he left behind, the economy in the tutelage of the IMF was a ‘strong economy’…” [ 182 more words ]
