11/12/2023
On November 7, 2023, at exactly 12:16 PM, I received a WhatsApp message from an unknown number, which read: "Good morning, You have been nominated as the SRC Secretary of the year category at the National Students Platinum Awards 23.Here is your voting flyer.
You can start voting. Any other information will be given to you as we move forward."
To my surprise, when I asked who nominated me, the sender had no idea. Some days later, I had a text from the person who was behind my nomination.
Initially, I hesitated to share my flyer, knowing it would be tough competing with students from other universities. However, I gathered the courage, and with the help of God, support from my family and friends, we began casting our votes a few days to the end of voting.
On December 2, 2023, exactly at 9:18 AM, I received another message from the same unknown number stating that I had won in the category I was nominated for.
The sender instructed me to come for my award at the National Theatre, Exhibition Centre precisely where the presentation of awards ceremony would take place.
I count it all joy for the goodness of God, may His name be praised forever. I don't take this recognition lightly.
I also want to express my gratitude to my family, friends of Team Beyond The Pen, and everyone who supported this cause.
This recognition informs me that there is a lot of work to be done in the coming years.
I dedicate this award to God Almighty, Pentecost University SRC and all students, friends of TEAM BEYOND THE PEN, and everyone who supported this cause.
Special thanks to Aps. Dr. Godlove Opoku and wife; Deborah Asante, Miss Esther Korang, Miss Abigail Larbi, Adomba Lucky, Miss Hannah Asante, Miss Siameh Rebecca and the organizers of National Students Platinum Awards'23 for the recognition.
Professor Ransford Gyampo of UG and UTAG, thank you for your words of encouragement❤️🙏
