πŸ“ŒThere are different stages in life played by different set of rules. Childhood, adolescence and adulthood stages come with various discipline and responsibilities. *There are assigned discipline and responsibilities according to the knowledge and strength available to each stage.* It would have been remarkable to see every one performing his duties perfectly but that’s not the norm these days. Some children and adolescents are forcibly playing the role of adulthood due to certain circumstances. And this is pathetic.

πŸ“ŒThe youthful stage is not for pleasure or fun. It’s a moment of submitting and bearing the yoke of discipline, developing and responsibility despite the hard times. Our focal text admonishes that it’s a good thing when you’re young to stick it out through the hard times. How you live your youthful stage will definitely affect your future. It’s true that life is full of challenges but there are many opportunities to make progress. *Refuse to pursue the paths of laziness, excuses, irresponsibility, procrastination, complaining and mediocre mentality. These paths usually result to poverty and unnecessary suffering in the near future.*

πŸ“ŒBeloved, your actions or inactions can be an asset or liability to the next generation. That’s why we are always admonished to live our lives well to positively affect the next generation. Don’t carry your responsibilities to your children or grandchildren. You are to bless them not to put burdens on them. *Do everything in your power by taking advantage of God’s grace, principles and instructions to make your life and others better.* God will be your number one helper as you make the decision to submit and bear that yoke to live a responsible live rather than later. _Precious Father, I thank You for helping me to graciously live a disciplined and responsible life. I am living a glorious life that will positively affect my generation and the next. I know my life is a solution to the problem of someone, therefore I refuse to be a liability. πŸ“ŒOne description of carnality is been governed by the flesh instead of the Spirit. It also means living under the influence of the flesh rather than the Spirit. One challenge every Christian will face forever till you leave this earth is dealing with your flesh. The flesh connotes different things in the Bible but in this case, it is figuratively used to connote the sinful nature of human beings that contradicts the nature of the Holy Spirit. *That sinful nature or appetite that opposes the glorious, godly and righteous nature of God is mostly referred to as the "flesh."*

πŸ“ŒRemember, your literal flesh (your body) is not an enemy to God but that sinful nature (flesh) is an enmity against God (Romans 8:7). So the flesh should not have mastery when you become born again in Christ. *Rather your new nature (of God in you), the new man born of God should have mastery or dominion in the way your speak, think and act and react to situations.* Until you allow the Word of God through the Spirit of Life in Christ to have total dominion over your life you cannot gain mastery over carnality.

πŸ“ŒBeloved, it is time to gain master over carnality because you have the Holy Spirit in you to enable you. Check whatever inspires carnality in you; is it envy, strife, lust, or divisions? *Engage the fruits of the Spirit of love, joy, self-control and unity against such fleshy lifestyles. It may not be always easy but it always possible in Christ.* The richest grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abounds towards you always. Amen!

_Dear Father, I thank You for greatly helping me with Your Word and Spirit to gain mastery over carnality. I am forever Yours. BLISSFUL greetings, Cherished one.

πŸ“ŒAnother category of people who live in between the natural and spiritual is called the carnal people. Carnality is mostly used to describe those who are babies in Christ. There are mostly called "neppious" in the Greek language. They are unskilled in the lifestyle of righteousness. *They haven't spent enough time growing into maturity in the things of Christ. Due to this, they are mostly ruled by their senses, emotions and situations that happen to them.*

πŸ“ŒThey haven't mastered dominion over the flesh yet so they easily fall prey to the carnal appetites of the lust of the flesh, eyes and pride of life. According to the focal text, they are not even able to receive the spirituality of the word at the meat and bone levels. *Mostly they are fed with the milk level because they are still seen as infants in Christ and are unable to receive solid food* (1 Corinthians 3:2). Beloved, it is very dangerous to believe in Christ for years and still remain in this category.

πŸ“ŒThe Apostle went further to elaborate on what makes them carnal and unable to receive solid food in verse 3. _For you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?_ So you can easily identify carnal people as those who consistently walk in envy, strife, and divisions. Such behave like mere men. Thus, the nature of Christ and the fruits of the Spirit haven't gained dominion over them. *Friend, fight and win over carnality anytime, anywhere and yearn to grow into maturity in this blessed journey with God.* The richest grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abounds towards you always. πŸ“ŒThe events that surround our focal text stem from being divided instead of walking in unity. A spiritual person believes and practises the unity of the brethren in Christ rather than division and focusing on others' flaws. *Love is the bond of perfection; so a spiritual person utilizes this bond in unity to promote the kingdom rather than selfish aggrandizement. πŸ“ŒOur focal text unveils that there is a category called spiritual people. The Apostle said he couldn’t speak with them as spiritual people. 1 Corinthians 2:12-16 unveils some attitudes of a spiritual person. First, He has received the Spirit which is from God to know the things that are freely given to him. Thus, a spiritual person knows his identity and what belongs to him in Christ. *He forges ahead to know Christ the more and also takes advantage of what belongs to him. He doesn’t live in spiritual ignorance.*

πŸ“ŒSpiritual folks also speak words that the Holy Spirit teach, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. *They do not rely on the teachings, wisdom or philosophies of humans above that of Papa God.* Moreover, the spiritual man unlike the natural man can know, receive and spiritually discern the things of God because they are not foolishness unto him (vs 14).

πŸ“Œ *To add up, the spiritual man knows or perceives the mind of Christ because he is acquainted with the Word of God.* He believes and trusts God; He lives in unfeigned love and total obedience to Him. The understanding of his heart is enlightened, not darkened. He walks in the spirit of wisdom and revelation of God the Father and the Son (Ephesians 1:17,18). πŸ“ŒOur focal text is one of the best eye-openers to enjoying the glorious life in Christ. Being a natural person deprives you of receiving the blessed revelations of God as revealed in Christ. It also keeps you in permanent ignorance of spiritual realities. *The natural man cannot know the things of God. Note he didn’t say β€œwon’t know or may not know” but β€œneither CAN he know”. In the Greek, the word "CAN" means β€œunable or incapable.”*

πŸ“ŒThus, he doesn’t have the ability or capacity within him to know spiritual things. Because it takes spiritual revelation to know the things of the Spirit. Spiritual things are spiritually discerned, not just naturally discerned. The power of darkness through unbelief has blindfolded their eyes from receiving revelation knowledge to spiritual things. *There is no way the natural man would understand spiritual things because they are spiritually understood, discerned or examined.*

πŸ“ŒBut thanks be to God the natural person still has the opportunity to hear the gospel and believe in Christ for salvation. *By so doing, such will receive eternal life and the light of Christ through the Holy Spirit will shine forth in their hearts. Therefore, cease not to pray and preach the gospel to people, for there are many natural people out there.* Live beyond them; influence them; and refuse to be deceived by them. πŸ“ŒThe Spirit of God inspired Apostle Paul to explain three categories of people in this world. These are the natural man, carnal man and spiritual man. First of all, the natural man is one who hasn’t embraced the life of God. Thus, He doesn’t believe in the only begotten Son of God. We are told that _”whoever has the Son has life, but whoever does not have the Son does not have life” (1 John 5:12)._

πŸ“ŒTherefore to be alien to the life of God in Christ is what makes you a natural man. The natural man has certain characteristics: He is sense or bodily- ruled. *In other words, he only believes the things his optical eyes could see and ears could hear.* If his eyes don’t see or ears don’t hear them, he calls them falsehood or foolish.

πŸ“ŒSuch folks always want physical evidence to spiritual realities. Yes, his senses (sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch) become his master and teacher; he refuses to believe anything his senses cannot appropriate. The reason why he doesn’t receive the things of the Spirit is that they are foolishness unto him; he sees them as stupid and nonsense. For he is only born of a woman or man, not of God as stated in John 1:12,13. As a child born of God, you are destined to be live beyond the natural person. The richest grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abounds towards you always. Amen !

_Dear Good Father, I thank You for bringing me great salvation which has brought me light, illumination, revelation and understanding. πŸ“ŒOur existence on earth is not void of challenges. Jesus Christ during His earthly ministry never lied to us; rather He told us that we shall have tribulation in this world (John 16:33). So the fact that we walk by faith doesn’t mean we wouldn’t face any challenges. *But faith gives us the wheels of persuasion and conviction to stay, endure and conquer every challenge (Ephesians 6:16).* Our focal text says if you faint in time of trouble, it is a sign that your inner strength is small.

πŸ“ŒTime of adversity refers to troubling or challenging times. To faint also means growing weary, weak or tired to pursue a worthy course or fulfill divine purpose. Challenges aim to make you weary or falter, so you need greater strength to triumph over them. *Our focal text is admonishing us to build great inner strength over any challenges rather than allowing them to overcome us.* Yes, you need greater strength to stand in times of challenges. How do you build this? Apostle Paul prayed that Christ would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in your inner man (Ephesians 3:16).

πŸ“ŒThe only antidote to building great strength is always drawing your strength from Christ. Thus, rely on the power of the Spirit of Christ in you. *Beloved, in the journey of life, we win from the power gained from the inside.* Engage in fervent prayers and fellowship with the Living Word. πŸ“ŒWhen you are under a sent shepherd who is after God's heart and feeds you with the right knowledge and understanding (insight and intelligence), make sure you stay committed and grow into maturity. When you are fed with knowledge and understanding it should be seen in your talk, thought patterns and lifestyle. *Yes, you ought to live as a knowledgeable disciple full of insight and intelligence.*

πŸ“Œ This will differentiate you from "normal churchgoers". It is pathetic some of the answers you'd hear when you ask someone who has been in the Church for donkey years _"what does it mean to be born again" or How does one become saved?_ Don't live like unconcerned, unserious and ignorant Christians. *Such folks are in the church only for what they can get from God not what God can get or do through them.* Some Christians are just believers and miracle seekers but others are ready for discipleship into maturity.

πŸ“Œ *Being a disciple means to be an intentional student of the Word through teachings and imparting knowledge; and also ready to practise what you learn.* Be concerned about your level of growth as you are being fed with the right knowledge and understanding. Allow the knowledge of the truth into your heart to effect the needed transformation. *Because if the shepherd feeds you right and you don't apply it to your life, you'll stagnate your own growth and progress.* Beloved, be really serious and stay committed to growth in all your endeavours.
