One of the biggest quest of men, and Christians most especially, is to know the will of God and walk in it. In the old testament, it was quite easy for men to walk in the will of God. You will find the phrase "The good pleasure of His own will" commonly used in the Old. Here, the will of God was revealed to men mostly by prophecy, covenants, oaths, promises, and divine encounters with God, His sent men, His holy angels, etc.

However, in the New Testament, things take a totally new approach. The onus lies on us as believers to prove that which is good, acceptable, and perfect, in God's will, as Apostle Paul will have us know in Romans 12:1-2. Thus, as a matter of fact, a believer could live his whole life walking and proving only that which is good, and never the acceptable or the perfect will of God. And again, one can prove that which is good and acceptable, and never the perfect. It then seems to me that only a select few of believers have been able to or will be able to prove that which is perfect in the will of God.

It also appears that, it is only believers who seem to never get to finish their work, because, in the first place, they do not understand what they have been called to do. A Mason can begin a work and say bodily, I am done. Likewise, a driver, a teacher, an architect, a doctor, etc. But many a believer are not able to tell whether they are done fulfilling their purpose, or not.

It is only those who identify their calling, their purposes, and are able to fulfill it who can emphatically and boldly make this claim that "I have finished my race and run my course". Did not our Lord say, it is finished? What of Paul?

5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. 6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: (2 Tim. 4)

We are admonished by the good book to redeem the times for the days are evil. I believe that one of the ways of redeeming our times and avoiding wastage of our time and purpose is to invest in good books.

A good book, in a few minutes, affords you a lot of advantages, which include, but not limited to, experiencing the years of the life of great and accomplished personalities. Their years of experiences; mistakes, successes and struggles are compounded into words for your feeding. You experience so many lives and lifetimes if you are a voracious reader.

It is quite frustrating to receive backlashes and negative feedbacks on your manuscript. However, if you took such feedbacks in good fate, you will definitely come to appreciate the critique, because grammatical errors hurt our writings in subtle ways. Hence, it is important for every writer or author to improve their editing and proofreading skills. Ignoring the importance of editing and proofreading allows grammatical errors to negatively impact on your literary work.

Editing and proofreading are important parts of the writing process. They help with the clarity and effectiveness of the structure of your work. Although editing and proofreading are used interchangeably by many a people, there is a distinct difference between the two, and both of them comprise rigorous and elaborate processes to undertake.

Editing could be defined as the process in which a writer or editor attempts to improve a draft for publication by correcting inaccuracies and by making words and sentences clearer, more precise, and more effective.
