NPP PARLIAMENTARY POLLS MIX REACTION IN AAN
Supporters of Hon.Lawyer Andy Appiah Kubi(MP AAN) and that of Hon.Kwadwo Baah Agyemang (Former MP AAN) took to the streets of Asante Akim Agogo over NPP NEC decision .
Asante Akim North District capital Agogo was all joyful and it was mixed reaction when the supporters of current MP for Asante Akim North Lawyer Andy Appiah Kubi took to the street jubilating that their fearful contender Hon.Kwadwo Baah Agyemang has been disqualified from contesting the parliamentary primaries in Asante Akim North constituency in the ticket of NPP.
In less than twenty four hours the story change and this time supporters of Hon.Kwadwo Baah Agyemang rather took to the principal streets of Agogo after a radio station announcing the NPP NEC decision to accept Kwadwo Baah Agyemang (NSA Board Chairman) to contest the Parliamentary Primaries schedule to take place in 20th June, 2020.
Chanting "unopposed has failed".

JOSEPH YAW PREPRAH MURDERED HIS WIFE AT ANANEKROM
Joseph Yaw Peprah 55, popularly known as JY has killed his own wife Gladys Oforiwaa .
The couple have five children and it was misunderstanding between the two and the husband accused the wife that she went to the farms and did not come early to prepare for for him .
After a short while he pulled knife and stabbed her at the armpit .
She was rushed to Ananekrom Health center and was referred to Agogo Presbyterian Hospital but she died on arrival.
The man earlier run to hide somewhere and police went but couldn't find him.
Later Asempa Radio 103.1mhz journalist Emmanuel Sarkodie went to the town and after the investigations picked intelligence from the grounds that the culprit is hiding out in the town and with collaboration with Agogo police picked the murderer.
JY told the police and journalist he was influenced by *alcohol* and he was not aware the wife is dead.He said that's the words of Satan.

The NDC parliamentary candidate for Asante Akim North Alhaji Sulley Adam Yusif has donated some items like bags of rice , sugar and others to Muslim communities in the Asante Akim North constituency.

*FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19: HON. KWADWO BAAH AGYEMANG DONATES PPEs AND MEDICAL SUPPLIES TO HEALTH FACILITIES AND PEOPLE OF THE ASANTE AKYEM NORTH CONSTITUENCY.*
The Chairman for the governing Board of the National Sports Authority HON. KWADWO BAAH AGYEMANG together with the legendary NANA OKYEREDOM of Agogo traditional area, popular known in public and showbiz circles as ABRANTIE AMAKYE DEDE and Dr. MICHAEL ADUSEI of USA, on Monday, April 20, 2020, donated some Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other medical supplies to Agogo Presbyterian Hospital and Juansa clinic, including some communities within the Asante Akyem North Constituency to help the health workers and people in their constituency as part of efforts to contain the continuous spread of the deadly Corona COVID-19 disease.
The items include; 50 Veronica buckets, 50 washing basins, 200 alcoholic based hand sanitizers, 2000 pairs of hand gloves, 1000 nose masks,100 cakes of medicated soaps, 50 boxes of surgical needles and syringes and 3 Non-Contact Digital Laser Infrared Thermometer Guns.
Speaking to the media after the presentation, Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, who is currently an NPP Aspiring Parliamentary Candidate (APC) for the Asante Akyem North Constituency reiterated the urgent need to create more awareness of the COVID-19 and educate everyone to be very cautious and adhere to all the precautionary protocols outlined by frontline experts championing the fight against the Coronavirus disease which includes; observing social distancing, staying home, proper handwashing with soap under running water and regular use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers.
The Board Chair further pledged that, in the coming days, he would be donating more Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs) to other health facilities and communities in the constituency in an aggressive drive to arrest the spread of the deadly virus.

SAD NEWS HIT AGOGO ASANTE AKIM
A pregnant Ghanaian nurse based in the United Kingdom and a native of Agogo Asante Akim has died in Luton & Dunstable hospital after contracting Covid-19, the disease caused by coronavirus.
Mary Agyeiwaa Agyapong, 28, according to the report worked as a nurse on a general ward at the Bedfordshire Hospital for five years, died on Easter Sunday.
Her baby girl – also thought to be called Mary – was successfully delivered after an emergency caesarean section and is doing well, according to the hospital.
It is not clear if the newborn has tested positive for Covid-19.
It's believe Ms Agyeiwaa Agyapong had been on maternity leave before being admitted to hospital.
It is understood that Ms Agyeiwaa Agyapong’s father has also died after contracting coronavirus, just days before his daughter.
In a statement on a fundraising page set up in her honour, friends and family of the 28-year-old described her as “a blessing to everyone she came across.”
The statement added: “Her love, care and sincerity will be irreplaceable.”
The Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said that Ms Agyapong tested positive on April 5 and was admitted to the hospital she worked at, on April 7.
The hospital paid tribute to Ms Agyeiwaa Agyapong, who had worked on a general ward there for five years, saying she was “highly valued and loved” by her colleagues.
A statement from the Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust described Ms Agyeiwaa Agyapong as a “loved member” of staff.
David Carter, CEO at the Trust, said in a statement: “It is with great sadness that I can confirm the death of one of our nurses, Mary Agyeiwaa Agyapong, who passed away on Sunday 12th April.
“Mary worked here for five years and was a highly valued and loved member of our team, a fantastic nurse and a great example of what we stand for in this Trust.
“She tested positive for Covid-19 after being tested on 5th of April and was admitted to the hospital on the 7th April.
“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Mary’s family and friends at this sad time. We ask that the family’s privacy is respected at this time.”

Asante Akyem North District Assembly have come out with measures to ensure that we don't record COVID-19 pandemic in the District.
Due to the outbreak in Juaso , markets like Obogu and Konongo have been closed down and it has puts pleasure on Agogo markets and the District security committee (DISEC) leg by the DCE Hon.Francis Oti Boateng have outline some measures to regulates market and transport activities in Agogo township.
From Monday April 6,2020 , traders from Juaso, Konongo, Kwahu and Kumawu are not allow to come to Agogo market with their goods , there would be no market activities on the streets of Agogo during Tuesdays and Fridays,all market activities would be conducted at the main markets . Training (sakora) park has been coopted as one of the markets in Agogo.
Taxi,trotro ,aboboyaa and pragia drivers are to reduce the number of of passengers to ensure the social distancing .

Member of parliament for Asante Akim South Lawyer Kwaku Asante Boateng has donated items branded items like Veronica Buckets, Hands sanitizers and nose mask to Juaso Government Hospital to help them fight COVID-19 pandemic.
The cost of items is Forty Thousand Ghana Cedis GH¢40,000.

1. The question is why must the MP and his supporters jubilate by singing unopposed song if indeed there will be a contest, who gave the that assurance.

2020 Castro Oil International Asante Akyem Marathon Set For April 13
The fourth edition of the Asante Akyem Marathon has been scheduled for Monday, April 13 2020.
The annual event which is put together by sports marketing and promotion firm SportsLife will be held in Agogo in the Ashanti Region.
This year’s event has reverted to its maiden edition mileage of 21-kilometre race from Akutuase to Agogo and it’s opened to both male and female, foreign envoys, Diplomatic personalities and will serve as the climax of the Easter celebrations in Agogo.
The last three editions of the marathon that seeks to provide a platform for the unearthing and nurturing of talented long-distance runners have enjoyed incredible patronage with athletes from all parts of the country and the world.
The event is in partnership with the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA), National Sports Authority (NSA), the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), Ministry of Youth and Sports, and Lubricants Supplies Ghana Limited, which is a multinational company proud to be the official and authorized distributor of Castrol Lubricants in Ghana.

A man whose name was only given as Eddy Murphy was discovered dead this morning about about 7:30pm by his immediate neighbours. But the stage of his body's decomposition indicated he had died about three days ago.

Family : Yet be visited. According to his neighbours, he has children abroad -in the United States of America where he had stay and worked as a forest guard until he was deported about 6months ago on grounds of mental disorder.
NADMO, Asante Akim North is currently coordinating a joint investigation with the district police homicide unit as to the actual cause of his death.
Even so, the team is waiting for the district judge to sign coronal document for his body to be moved to the morgue.

Who leads Asante Akyem North District Assembly as Presiding Member (PM)
Today 23rd January ,2020 Asante Akyem North District will sworn in both elected and government appointee into Asante Akyem North District Assembly.
They will also elect PM to steer the affairs of the meetings and other relevant roles.
Three names have been crop up to contest for the sole position.
They are Hon.Samuel Baah of Bontodiase electoral area, Hon.Frank Gyamfi of Juansah North and finally Hon.Peter Abaje of Ananekrom electoral area.
There has been a meeting at Mr Sampson Agyei NPP party Chairman's residence at Agogo Kowiremu with some of the elected Assembly members ,where they were told Hon.Frank Gyamfi is the choice of NPP party for PM position.
The our source tells us that Hon.peter Abaje and Hon.Samuel Baah will collaborate and present one candidate for the position. But as it stands now its likely we might not get the PM because none of these candidates are likely to get two thirds of the members present.

Asante Akyem North have 22 elected Assembly members and 10 Government appointees .
Hon Frank Gyamfi could get 6 elected Assembly members and 8 Government appointees and Hon. Samuel Baah could also get 16 elected and 2 appointees
