Mr. Osafo Adamu Jonas has been enstooled as the Mawerɛhene of the anum traditional area on the 5th January, 2024.
Mawerɛhene is likened to today's administrative position of interior minister. He is responsible for the interior security of the chief. Thus, he is very close to the chief and ensures that, the people who get access to the chief are of no bad intentions. Because he is responsible for the internal security of the chief, the chief's outfit for every occasion is chosen and inspected by him and he must be able to explain the reason behind every outfit for the chief for every occasion. He must ensure the chief appears good always in public and is highly secured internally.

The Guans of Ghana. The first settlers of present day Ghana meets again to celebrate the unity of purpose. We are fortunate to have a world that distance is no more a burial. We can have a Guan kingdom only through a purpose of unity. We can be strong and powerful to take our place in the land that originally belongs to us.

The one-week ban on all forms of noise-making and drumming in Anum takes effect today, December 4th, 2023.
The ban is part of preparations for the celebration of the Akpootu by the Anum people.

The Anum Traditional Council in an announcement on the local media reminded residents under its jurisdiction of the annual exercise and urged persons within catchment areas to comply with the directive.

The ban affects any form of noise-making, including the use of loudspeakers, drums, tambourines, funeral rites, and roadside evangelism.

The President and Omanhene of The Anum Traditional Area/Council, Akusiaku Brempong Kumi Sasraku VIII had said the Priests of the deity (Letwi) will ensure strict adherence to the ban within the jurisdiction.
Below is an earlier announcement made on the local media (Information Centers)
The Anum Traditional Council wishes to inform all residents in its jurisdiction that, this year’s ban on drumming and noise-making commences from Monday 4th December to Monday 11th December 2023. It has therefore set the following guidelines in the interest of peace, harmony, and national security
1. During the period of the ban, churches are expected to carry out their activities within their premises and refrain from the use of musical instruments.
2. The positioning of loudspeakers outside the premises of churches, mosques and pubs are banned. Roadside evangelists are to cease their activities during this period.
3. Religious bodies and the Traditional Authorities must show respect for one another and restrain their followers from making derogatory and inflammatory remarks about the beliefs and practices of one another.

4. Other guidelines by the Anum Traditional Council include a ban on funeral rites and their related activities.
