Mike Foundation has done it again, this time the foundation led by its founder Mr Michael Sulemana has donated 3000 pieces of sanitary pads to about 360 female pupils from the Methodist Basic School, Catholic Basic School and the Anglican Basic School all in Manso in the Mpohor District of the Western Region.

The gesture commemorates World’s Menstrual hygiene day celebrated on May 28th under the theme “Breaking Stigma: Discover the World of Menstrual Hygiene”.

According to the founder of the Mike Foundation, Mr Michael Sulemana chose the Manso community for their annual support to communities and people indeed was based on their needs assessment which points to the fact that female pupils in the area are still using the old method of handling the me**es when their period is due.

This he explains resulted from numerous challenges confronting them (parents). Top among these challenges was the economic and the myth of using sanitary pads.

The foundation in collaboration with Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital used the occasion to give the Manso community free health screening yesterday 2nd June 2023.

It is worth mentioning that the donation from MIKE Foundation is in line with its slogan, “Service to Humanity”.

75-year-old Sheik Zulkifil Abdul Wahid Umar was on Sunday, November 27th 2022 turbaned as the substantive Western Regional Chief Imam after the demise of Alhaji Sanni Abdullah Bawa nine weeks ago.

Sheik Zulkifil Abdul Wahid Umar who is been promoted automatically and turbaned as the chief imam served as a deputy chief imam under the late Alhaji Sanni Abdullah for only 4 months.

Sheik Adam Buda-Ali, a 62 year old pupil teacher was also decorated and turbaned as the Deputy Western Regional Chief Imam.

The colorful ceremony was well attended by dignitaries from across the country as well as the Muslism communities in the western region signifying the strength and unity among them and the acceptance of the newly turbaned chief imam and his deputy.

Leader of the Shia community in Ghana who doubles as the Zongo Chief of Temale, Sheik Dalhu Abdul Mumin who was the special guest for the occasion cautioned Sheik Zulkifil Abdul Wahid Umar and his deputy to ensure that Allah’s command would reign supreme among Allah’s people and also ensure that they bring all together to show love to the holy prophet of Islam since that is the way to lead us to peace, harmony and co-existence among ourselves.

“I want the imam and the deputy to know that the whole world today is in serious confusion, no one is happy with what is going on with what is going on in the whole world and Ghana is part of the world. The world at large is in serious confusion economically, socially, politically so when you question any person the reason for that, he will find it difficult to explain; no one understand what is going on so we are telling them to understand that God almighty created the world and he owns it”.

“According to Islamic teachings, he created the world because of the holy prophet of Islam, he loves him so much unfortunately the world is not showing that love and concern to the holy prophet of Islam so Allah decided also to leave us this way so for us to be able to come out of this problem we need to reflect back to love the one that the almighty love and we will be happy”.
