The Most Rev’d Dr Cyril Kobina Ben-Smith, has congratulated Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of Ghana, on his election as Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Archbishop Ben-Smith, the Primate of the Church of the Province of West Africa, had gone to the Presidency with other clergy to offer Communion to the President as accustomed.

They, however, made a stop to congratulate the Vice President.

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia expressed appreciation to the Clergy for the visit barely days after his election as Flagbearer.

"I truly appreciate this gesture," the elated Vice President said.

He said, "will further deepen my longstanding close relationship with the church and deepen religious tolerance in Ghana."

As directed by the Primate, The Most Rev’d Dr Cyril Kobina Ben-Smith, the Anglican Church of Ghana, led by the Bishop of Ho, Bishop Matthias and the Suffragan Bishop of Accra, Bishop Neequaye, made a presentation to the Victims of the Akosombo Dam Spillage.
