This is how the chief Imam of Sefwi Asawinso, Mallam Hashmiu prayed to Asawinso Land and the people who dwell in it. And he continued seeking divine guidance and healing from almighty Allah for the speedy recovery of the Chief of the Land Nana Adu Kwasi II, who was indisposed.

The Member of Parliament for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency in the Western North Region on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party ( NPP) Alfred Obeng-Boateng has granted a full scholarship to Miss Belinda Agyenim Boateng, overall best female WASSCE student in 2022.

The package was announced at the 67th Independence anniversary celebration parade at Bibiani. In his address at the ceremony, the MP expressed his heartfelt gratitude to God for the gift of life and journey mercies. Our forefathers who sacrificed their lives for the independence of the country were also appreciated. The MP recounted the successes chalked by the NPP government under the auspices of Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo.

On education, the MP charged the constituents in particular and Ghanaians at large to take advantage of the Free SHS policy which has made secondary education accessible and affordable. He challenged the students that they had a non-negotiable duty to study hard and excel in their academic pursuits and by so doing, they could contribute their quota to national development. Against this backdrop, the MP promised to sponsor the best female WASSCE student in the Municipality to pursue any course in a tertiary institution in Ghana.

The MP finally pleaded with the constituents to eschew extreme partisanship and forge ahead in unity for development and prosperity.

Miss Belinda Agyenim Boateng was a General Arts student at Otoo Senior High School, a private Senior High School in Bibiani. She bagged 7A's and 1B in the 2022 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

The MP has been praised for the gesture since the world is pushing for increased participation of women in governance, decision -making and all sectors of the economy. Gender Equality has been championed by global organizations and various legal frameworks. This has been explicitly stated in SDG goal 5: "Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls."

In attendance at the occasion was the President of the National House of Chiefs, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi ll, Western North Regional Minister, Hon Richard Ebbah Obeng, Western North Regional Education Directo, Mr Seth Boateng. Others were the Regional Police Commander, Fire Commander, Immigration Officer, and others.

Bibiani : โ€œNDC Is United/Stronger Than Previous To Reclaim Bibiani Seatโ€- Hon. Obeng Adjinah Vows

A former National Democratic Congress Parliamentary aspirant for the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency Hon. Kwame Obeng Adjinah has said the party is more stronger than previous to reclaim the Bibiani seat from the incumbent MP.

He noted the party has indeed suffered over the past years, but they have realised their mistakes and have bounced back stronger to win the seat.

Whilst addressing the press, he seized the opportunity to congratulate the Npp Parliamentary aspirants for a successful primary. He acknowledged the fact that the primary was violence free and a peaceful one.

The Estate developer emphasised that the NDC would not make the same mistakes that have led them backwards. He added that they firmly believe Hon. Bright Asamoah Brefo, the partyโ€™s elected parliamentary candidate, will win on December 7.

โ€œWe shall touch down soon to campaign massively for the NDC in Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai. Donโ€™t be shocked to see our victory on December 7th; weโ€™re united now and going to reclaim this seat. We are back and better than ever,โ€ he said.

To be honest, the NDC in Bibiani has faced many difficulties, but we are determined not to make the same mistakes twice. We are urging Ghanaians to back the NDC in its effort to free the nation from the disastrous NPP regime.

Couple sues St. John Hospital & Fertility Centre for GHยข5m
December 13, 2023

A couple has sued St. John Hospital & Fertility Centre, blaming them for the death of their baby and demanding GHยข5 million for the loss of life, pain, and suffering occasioned by their alleged actions.

The couple, Mr. Ekow Andoh and Mrs. Sandra Tekyiwaa Sackey, in their statement of claim, prayed the court for a declaration that the defendant is vicariously liable for the medical negligence of its employee health workers since their negligent omission and commission caused their baby to be diagnosed with severe asphyxia and subsequently led to the babyโ€™s death.

They also want an order directing the defendant to pay the cost of litigation, including legal fees per the Ghana Bar Association Scale of Fees 2022.

They said the defendant knew or ought to know that its health officersโ€™ actions and inactions fell below the standard of care when its officers failed to curtail a prolonged delivery by Mrs Sackey (2nd Plaintiff) when the latter was under the duty of care of the defendant and same caused the coupleโ€™s baby boy to be diagnosed with severe asphyxiation, which caused the death of the baby.

They said the defendantโ€™s midwives declined the 2nd Plaintiffโ€™s request for elective caesarian section (CS) at the commencement of delivery of the 2nd Plaintiffโ€™s baby, which decline caused a prolonged delivery of the 2nd Plaintiff and resulted in severe asphyxiation and the death of Plaintiffsโ€™ baby.

The couple further contends that the defendantโ€™s delay from decision to delivery and inadequate care caused severe asphyxiation and the eventual death of the plaintiffsโ€™ baby.

They state that the 2nd Plaintiff, upon discharge from the hospital and about a week later, realized that the stitched part of her va**na produced colored discharge, causing her great discomfort. Additionally, the 2nd Plaintiff mostly felt dizzy, weak, and easily tired when attempting to walk or engage in any activity.

The Plaintiffs said from the foregoing, the Holy Care Specialist Hospital examined the 2nd Plaintiff and observed that her stitches had not been carried out to standard as most of the stitches were in knots and had caused infection with a discharge.

The Holy Care Specialist Hospital affirmed the ongoing anaemia of the 2nd Plaintiff to be 7 g/dl of haemoglobin.

They asserted that the defendant, as the owner and administrator of a WhatsApp group named โ€œST. JOHNโ€™S PREGNANCY CLASSโ€ with not fewer than 150 pregnant women on board, including the 2nd Plaintiff, circulated thereon that Korle Bu Teaching Hospital was to be blamed for the death of the baby and not them.

The Plaintiffs said the defendant removed the 2nd Plaintiff from the said WhatsApp group amidst the death of the Plaintiffโ€™s child and other pregnant mothers asking questions.
