The last Akwasidae festival of the year 2023 took place at the Afia Kobi Park in the Manhyia Palace on November 26.

This festival attracted notable attendees, including Queen Consort Sylvia Nagginda of the Buganda Kingdom, Her Royal Highness Rita Maria Zimba of the Moroccan Royal Family, former Deputy President of South Africa Mr. David Mabusa, the Asante Professionals Club (APC), AngloGold Ashanti, and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Also present were the “Heal KATH Project” Management, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the Legacy Foundation, the Tour Operators Union of Ghana, the National Alternative Employment Programme for Illegal Miners (NAELP), Zongo Nkosuohene, and Jamaican Reggae artiste Hezron Clarke.

National Best Cocoa Farmer 2023, Madam Adwoa Sintim, paid a courtesy visit to the Manhyia Palace during the Awukudae Festival on Wednesday, December 20, 2023.

She used the occasion to showcase her plaques and a citation before Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Ga Manste, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, has officially informed Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II about the death of the late paramount Queen Mother of the Ga State, Naa Dedei Omaedru III and invited him to her final funeral rites and burial.

The invitation was presented by a delegation from the Ga State on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at the Manhyia Palace.

The Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has launched the 2023 Green Ghana Day.

The event took place on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

At the event were dignitaries including the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor, Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah, Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, Prof. Rita Akosua Dickson, traditional rulers, students, and many others.

Asantehene marked the 7th Akwasidae in the Asante calendar where several dignitaries and government officials paid homage to the King including his spouse Lady Julia Osei Tutu.

The Colombian Ambassador to Ghana, H.E Claudia Turbay, Ghana Bar Association led by their president, Lawyer Yaw Boafo, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, and the Kumasi Mayor, Sam Payne joined in the celebration.

Others included the Moroccan Ambassador to Ghana H.E Imane Ouaadil, the International Peace Ambassador, Torgbui Gobah Tengey, the Board and Management of Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School, Ghana Caribbean Chamber of commerce, and many others were all present at Manhyia on the day of Adae

The Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation led by Otumfuo Hiahene, Nana Prof. Oheneba Boachie-Adjei Owoahene, made a presentation before the Asantehene while he sat in State at the 5th Awukudae on Wednesday, June 22,2022 at Manhyia Palace.

The group accounted to its Patron on donations from the Konahene, Nana Konadu Yiadom Kumanin IV, Tredehene, Nana Nuben Sra III, and Joseph Albert Quarm, popularly known as Prof. Quarm.

The Foundation further informed the King about the donation made by the Asante Professionals Club branch in the United States of America to the Manhyia Government Hospital.

The 2021 Special Congregation of KNUST which started on Thursday, June 9, 2022, saw four thousand seven hundred and twelve (4,712) students out of which one thousand four hundred and fifty-five (1,455) undergraduates and three thousand , two hundred and fifty-seven (3,257) postgraduates students.
