My favorite Ghanaian soups in no particular order. I’m a huge light soup lover so as you can see most of these are light soups with different proteins.
As challenged by @akosuahstastyrecipe
What is your favorite Ghanaian soup?
Let’s talk spices.
Wgat spices can you identify in the video? What spices do you use often when cooking?
Let’s make Hausa /Ayuo koko using my beautiful blender from @all_needs_official_
I am convinced that some of the most affordable meals in Ghana have the highest levels of complexities in their cooking. Look at Kenkey, Asaana and koko? Plus many others.
I had some help from my mom because the mixing of the hot water and the paste was a bit of a challenge for me.
I’m creating a full YouTube video of this in my YouTube channel with a detailed explanation. The link is in my bio or just search Cheflifestyle on YouTube.
Can we get into this blender and how smooth it blended my millet? I’m obsessed 😍. @all_needs_official_ take your flowers
Ingredients used
- millet
- pepper
- ginger
- grains of selim
- cloves
Street koko or homemade koko? Koko with koose, bread or Masa? Let me know ☺️☺️☺️

As a smoothie lover, I love pairing all kinds of fruits with milk. My current experiment led me to try Alasa ( African star fruit) with Bamnut milk which very much gave elevated mashed Kenkey vibes.
I have been obsessed with Bamnut milk ever since I got it. I used the Barista for this smoothie since it’s the creamiest.
I challenge @its_yeeyee to make something yummy with Bamnut

Bibiana and the Palmnut soup saga 🤣🤣🤣. What are some of your childhood memories of food.
I was in my acting era as a child because I was so lazy 🤣🤣. My mom has suffered in my hands.
Anyways who agrees with me that palmnut soup is tedious to make? Especially the dishes 😭😭
Anyways the outcome is worth it tho especially with rice or rice all. What do you enjoy your palmnut soup with?

You guys know how excited I get about Ghanaian brands that are killing it! Listen I first tried @koa.natural.gh somewhere December 2022, and I had the shock of my life when I realized that it wasn’t a chocolate drink!
Let me not get started on how good this drink actually is! I made my mom try it and she hasn’t stopped talking about it. As for me I’ve almost finished the entire box 🤣🤣.
It is made in Ghana from 100% cocoa with no preservatives and additives. If you are going to get it, know that It’s a cold storage product and so must be always kept refrigerated.
You can find out more by visiting the @koa.natural.gh page!
This is a must try guys!

I believe a lot of our addiction to eggs as Ghanaians started from this meal because tell me why some people can have 3,4,5 eggs in one bread 🤣🤣🤣
Chibom literally means fry together which translates to frying multiple eggs together and it’s usually had with milo which many people refer to as tea especially our older generation.
It is still one of the meals I enjoy every once in a while.
They also have roadside vendors who offer this for sale in the morning and at night. I’ve heard stories of how theirs taste entirely different from the one made at home.
Is that true?
Anyways what are some of your fondest food memories as a child?

Spices are not just there to elevate your food but in my opinion, they are also supposed to make cooking easier and more enjoyable.
As a food blogger who uses a lot of spices in my cooking, I can happily say that these spices from @naturalspiceshop_gh is really worth it. The options are a lot and they are also all natural.
I cannot wait to try some of these especially the dawadawa and prekese powder!
Who is joining the soft life with me?

Dear woman, your dreams are valid.
Break those old agreements you had with yourself that said “I am not good enough, I can’t do it because I am a woman, I don’t want to appear too loud, I don’t want to do this and that because society says I can’t do it”
Step into your power and always choose you. Be ready to disappoint a few people but always always choose yourself. The world will adjust I promise you!
Happy international women’s day to all the amazing women out there who are killing it, to all the women who dream of killing it, and to all the women who are yet to discover what they want. Remember you are worthy regardless of who you are or what you do.
Happy international women’s day. And oh I love being a woman so much!
Tag any woman you admire and tell them you something

Ghana girl and proud 💪🏾
Happy 67th Independence Day to my motherland. There are so many things I love about Ghana and in this post, I’m sharing a few.
I’m thinking of a part 2 where I talk about things I don’t like about Ghana. Should I? 🤣😭😭
My favorite part of being a Ghanaian is how hospitable we are as a country. As a a solo travelled, I have not once felt out of place in a new place and I know a lot of foreigners can attest to that fact.
As for the nosiness, it is part of our DNA, especially the older generation. Because why is my mother friend trying to do match making for me? Who asked you 🤣😭😭
What do you love about being a Ghanaian? If you are not a Ghanaian what do you love about Ghana?

Happy Independence Day, My top 10 Ghanaian meals as challenged by @chefabbys
Waakye and Etor will always have my heart. The rest, I eat when I crave it. I don’t really like a lot of foods with soup that’s why you don’t see the likes of banku, omotuo, Tz etc here. I’m not a big fan.
What do you guys think about my list? And what are your favorite Ghanaian meals?

What’s the name of these leaves in your language? My Nigerian friend told me it’s called Efo in Nigeria. That is what’s used to make Efo riro.
I would love to know other names for it
So I did some shopping over the weekend at Ejisu market in Kumasi and here is everything I got plus tilapia which was in the freezer at the time of filing. And then sobolo which I forgot and left in the market 😭.
I will admit I don’t enjoy going to the market because it drains everything in me but this was quite smooth.
Anyways a A haul is : all the things someone buys on an occasion when they go shopping
So let’s go through my list as I share with you how much I got for these items. Are they fair, cheap or expensive?
How much do you buy them in your area?
Also where are my mathematicians? How much did I spend overall?

What do you call Aidan fruit ( Prekese) in your language? I would love to know!
I grew up with Prekese being used only for soups in my household and it was one of my favorite part of soups. It has so much fragrance and flavor! Especially when it’s roasted which is how my mom used it.
I’ve learned of a few of its other uses and benefits like being used as a tea, in soap production and its major health benefits as well.
I would love to hear what you know about Prekese and what you use it for in your cooking and other areas of your life.
What do you use Prekese for?
