Prempeh 1 International Airport Runway Abandoned. 😳🥲

According to Covtvghana, one of the best Kumasi and Ashanti Region Promoters, the contractor meant for the construction of the Runway of the Prempeh 1 International Airport has left the place.

According to the Government the extension of the Runway will be completed in September this year. May be the contractor is going to regroup and come back to complete the project on September.

So I will give the Government the benefit of the doubt. By September ending if the Runway is not completed and I start descending on the Gov't with this platform, nobody should come and tag me as an NDC member.

The most annoying part is that, you will see cows loitering around the Airport 🤣, KMA de3, nkwasiasem nkoaa.

NPP and the Nana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo Government will be a total disappointment to Asanteman if they are not able to complete this Airport.

So like joke like joke, Nana Addo/Bawumia Government has abandoned the Kumasi Central Market Project? 🤔

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia were you not ashamed campaigning in the Kejetia Market built under John Dramani Mahama Government?

When the Mahama Government started the Kejetia Market in June 2015, the project was never halted or abandoned on the way till it was completed in early 2017.

The Nana Addo/Bawumia Government after borrowing €248m started the Kumasi Central Project in February 2021. In November 2022, the contractor abandoned the project and up to date, they have never returned.

This project was abandoned before the Gov't went to IMF, so nobody should blame it on IMF modalities.

I get nothing against the NPP Gov't, but we will not allow you to abandon the Kumasi Central Market like the Kofrom Market. We are going to be on your Neck till the contractor resume work on the Project.

The Question is, where in the rest of the €248m? Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo? 🤣

Mr President, on 21st February 2024, your Government according to the Finance Minister, Dr Mohammed Amin Adams released 14m Euros for the continuation of the contruction of the Komfo Anokye Maternity Block.

Mr President, we are in June 2024 and we have not seen any contractor on the Project since the day the 14m Euros was released. Is it crocrodejon or what? 😃

Mr President, it will be absolutely unwise if this project is not completed. This is a project that was demolished after it was abandoned for 44 years since Acheampong's Gov't.

We don't want a situation where the project will be abandoned for another 44 years for it to be demolished again. You will leave a very good legacy if you are able to complete this project.

Update and Facts about the Reconstruction of the ongoing Kumasi Central Market. The reconstruction of the Kumasi Central Market forms part of the motive to make Kumasi the commercial business centre in the middle part of Ghana. The project which has been divided into 3 phases comprises; 1. The Kumasi Kejetia market which was started under the erstwhile Mahama government in 2015 and completed in late 2017. Funds for the Phase 1 was approved by parliament in February 2015 and the market has over 8500 shops and a lorry park. 2. The Phase 2 of the project is the one which is currently ongoing. Funds for the Phase 2 of the project was approved by parliament in September 2018 and the project started in late 2019. It is expected to be completed in 48 months and when completed, the market will have over 10,500 shops. 3. The Phase 3 of the project is suppose to start immediately after the completion of the second Phase. Currently, the Phase 2 is about 70% completion and I learnt the project has been allegedly suspended due to restructuring of the government revenue to meet the IMF conditionalities. We pray that everything will go smooth for the completion of the project in time. Kudos to the Mahama government for the Phase 1 and kudos to the Nana Addo government for the Phase 2.
