Discover the tranquil charm of Kpeve Tornu, a picturesque fishing and farming community nestled in the Kpeve locality. Situated along the Volta River's banks, this idyllic setting offers a peaceful retreat for tourism enthusiasts. Explore the surrounding towns, such as Kpando Torkor, Dzemeni, Wusuta Kpebe, and more, via canoe, and indulge in the freshest catches from local fishermen. Nature lovers will delight in spotting rare and endangered monkey species along the riverbanks, quenching their thirst. The warm hospitality of the Kpeve Tornu people makes visitors feel welcome, as evidenced by our friendly tour guide, who shared valuable insights and made our canoe journey unforgettable.
Observe closely from the start of the video, and you'll spot monkeys frolicking on the rocks. Unlike the Mona Monkeys of Tafi Atome, these primates are shy and flee when approached by humans. However, they've been known to cautiously collect bananas left at a distance, only to scurry away. The breathtaking scenery, with the surrounding mountains and river, evokes the natural beauty of Cape Town, South Africa. With efforts to habituate these monkeys to human presence, Kpeve Tornu could potentially become another thriving monkey sanctuary, offering a unique experience for visitors.

Meet MadamBernice Buamah a dedicated and hardworking woman who has devoted her life to preserving the ancient craft of producing clay beads, a significant aspect of African cultural heritage. For generations, clay beads have been an integral part of African tradition, worn by people of all ages on various occasions such as weddings, birthday parties, naming ceremonies, and festivals. These beads symbolize prestige, cultural identity, and continuity.Despite the rich history of clay bead production, modernity has unfortunately led to a decline in the craft's popularity. Many artisans have shifted to using alternative materials, resulting in reduced demand for clay beads and forcing numerous producers out of business. Defying the odds, Madam Bernice Buama stands as the sole clay beads producer in the Volta Region and possibly the entire nation of Ghana. Her unwavering dedication has preserved the legacy from extinction.Hailing from Sokode Gbogame in the Volta Region of Ghana, Madam Buama's home serves as both her residence and workshop. A visit to her humble abode reveals the labor-intensive processes involved in transforming raw clay from the pit into exquisite, finished ornaments cherished by the community. However, Madam Buama faces significant challenges, including inadequate equipment to enhance production. She urgently appeals for assistance from NGOs, individuals, and investors to support her craft and ensure its survival.Bead making has been the primary source of livelihood for Madam Buama and her family for over three decades. This cherished craft was passed down to her by her mother, who in turn learned the art from a women's empowerment group at church. The significance of this legacy extends beyond mere ornamentation; it embodies cultural preservation, community identity, and the empowerment of women. For those interested in supporting Madam Buama's remarkable work or placing orders, please contact her directly via the provided phone number+233 24 670 6048.
