SOD CUTTING

Today, 14th April, 2022.
The District Chief Executive for Bia West, Hon Bernard Gyebi Blay cut sod for the commencement of construction of the District Police Headquarters at Debiso.

Since the creation of the District Police Command, the service, an institution responsible for security has lacked a befitting office in the District.

Within the next twelve (12) months, God willing, the District Police Headquarters will be completed.

Present at the project site with the District Chief Executive for the sod cutting ceremony were the District Police Commander, Superintendent Daniel kwao Teye, The Coordinating Director, Jumah Asumah Pentu, District Engineer, Salifu-Deen Iliasu, District NADMO Director, George Kyere, Chief of Debiso, Nana Kofi Asumani I, Assembly Member for Debiso, Emmanuel Anane, Reps from Debiso Magistrate Court, Reps from Debiso Local Council of Churches, Chairman for Bia West Depot Officers Association, James Owusu and CEO of AdaPaul Ventures, Addae Tweneboah Paul.

Together, we all can build a better Bia West.

Our able and energetic DCE, Hon Bernard Blay yesterday, 5th April 2022 together with the Chief of Elluokrom, Nana Ahwoi Panin II visited the yard of Amandi Investment Limited, the contractor working on the Bechemaa Junction to Adjoafua road at 290 to officially welcome him into the district and also to ascertain the progress of work.

The Bia West District is one of the 260 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in Ghana and forms part of the 9 MMDAs in the Western North Region.

The Bia West District was carved out of the erstwhile Bia District in 2012 by the Legislative Instrument (LI) 2014 and has a total surface area of 1,287.265 square kilometres. The District capital, Essam is located 420km to the northwest of Sekondi-Takoradi and 250km to Kumasi.
