EQUAL ATTENTION TO ROADIES!!!
Today my focus is on a crucial people in the music setup. In Ghana, we refer to them as packers. One way or the other, we have all been roadies before. A roadie is someone who's part of the technical team of a band. Their responsibilities goes beyond just loading and tearing down gadgets. The are involved in setting up the instruments for gigs. Some of them have expertise of soldering and electricity connection. Most of the good sound engineers around were once upon a time roadies. Their services in a band is very crucial.
Am dwelling on roadies today because of the treatment some musicians, band owners, etc. treat them. My conversation with some of them reveals that they receive as low as 25gh and 50gh as the highest per day. Why?
Let's get them covered in our plans just as we do other personnel in the band. Roadies are the first people to arrive at a gig and the last to leave. They must be seen as important as any other person in a band.
So now, i want to know why roadies are viewed as the least on the list?
LET'S GIVE THEM THE NEEDED ATTENTION. Thanks for your time this week. Let's make the music business attractive.

WORK ON YOUR SPEAKERS AND AMPLIFIERS!!!
My mission today is a simple one. Band owners should invest in good speakers and amplifiers It doesn't matter whether you're using a digital mixing board or an analog mixer. The difference is what your audience ear. The final destination of everything we do on the mixer is the speakers. Before you go out there to purchase speakers:
1. know the type of speakers you need(active or passive)
2. The specifications (frequency range. dB. etc.)
3. The purpose for which you want the speakers.

You can have the best sound engineer in the world in your band, if your speakers and amps are not good nothing good can be appreciated by the audience who are the final recipients of the product (sound).
